I'm waiting on my Maxpedition backpack I ordered other day to replace my old worn work bag. Seems their stuff is waterproofed, heavily stitched at the stress points, got every size ya can imagine, & is made to add on to if needed. Catch is, it ain't cheap!!!

Get that pack yet? If so, which one, from where did you order, and how do you like it?

Got it Tuesday. Its slightly bigger than I thought it'd be from the dimensions listed on Maxpedition's website. I also ordered 2 of their 32 ounce bottles to go in the sidepockets made for them. To say this bag is TOUGH would be an understatement. Heavy Duty as hell with room to spare. I ordered the Pygmy Falcon II in Black. I'd have liked the regular Falcon, but it'd have been too big for a Workbag.

I'm considering getting a maxpedition as well. Just wondering if they would be comfortable for someone my height at 6'3". I find many no frame packs aren't the best fit. Wish I had a place close by that sold them.

Since Ive been gone, Ive moved(just across street, but moving is moving)
failed at gardening for the third season(mostly bc of move)
Been working on my archery skills.
Begun building my tahoe into a bug out beast.(BFGs, locker, lights, etc)
And become obsessed with guns and ammo.....(Im building four ar15s. Their like stinking legos for adults!)
Also thinking about getting a pop up camper and building it into something outback capable.

So Im looking at my list of lists and its incredibly lopsided.
I have a fair amount of tools, first aid, gas, and enough ammo to make even a seasoned monkey grin.
But Im short on the eats!
We've got prob a month or so consisting of:
    Water
    Spaghetti
    Mac and cheese
    Peanut butter
    Canned chicken
    Rice
40-50 lbs Deer meat(I plan on killing a couple hogs to add to the freazer. The old owner of our new house left a large standup deep freeze so I have plenty of room to store critters without my wife complaining. Until then, im storing ammo in it. lol)
and a couple cases of MREs

What should I add, to add some variety, that we still might eat on a regular basis?

For your get home rig consider setting up an older mountain bike, get good quality as in my experience cheap means you will end up walking.
Paint/tape cover or whatever like a bike messenger would to hide that it is good quality.
For carrying your gear a BoB trailer will lower your center of gravity and profile as well as track better than a two wheel trailer also should fit through narrower places.

Even riding paranoid you should get home in less than half of the time as walking.

We dont have many of these guys around arkansas, but I believe most of them, or at least the cool ones, ride Vintage fixies(fixed gear) rather than high end Mountain bikes.
If I were going to risk riding in the open, I think id just ride my TT bike. 56 miles would only take me 1.5 hours. I guess I should throw my bag on and see what I can do on the bike loaded down?
Bike messengers riding. They have their own underground racing circuit. lol
