The overwhelming desire to choke the living crap out of someone who desperately deserves it= Stress.

Honest to god, one of the reasons I finally retired from the military was that I was having daydreams of choking the living crap out of some young officer (or retired on active duty SNCO). I always had a tough time keeping my mouth shut when listening to some moron who cared more about the potential accolades he could win than about his people and the mission; but when I had to start worrying that my fingers were going to reach out and shut off someone's air supply in an autonomic response to stupidity, I knew that it was time to go.

My wife and I both decided years ago that as soon as we identified something as being a stress factor in our lives, or in our business, we would start finding a way to eliminate it, or at least to mitigate its effects. So far, it's been a good strategy.

Stress comes from experiencing the unexpected. It causes a ripple in our perception of reality...which stresses us out. To limit stress...never assume anything is going to go the way you want it to. Be ready to adapt and go with the flow.

When you expect nothing you gain everything.

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

Stress does more than ruin your day, it ruins your health and gives you gray hair. Therefore, throttling those who cause me stress is protected under self defense.

    Or so it should be.

Are we discussing what is stress, how to handle it or relieve it? Stress is a nasty thing that causes hostility, frustration, hair to fall out, etc.... IMO you NOT should learn to handle your stress (live with it), you should work on expelling it from your life. How to relieve it??? Find something that makes you happy & do it- you have stress, do your special thing.

I think the conversation is what stress does to us and how we might want to handle it. Maybe not in a counseling sort of way. More of "I am going to get the shotgun and blast some stuff as stress reducing med's". But that is just my thought of the day!!:

I find that turning off the Tube (FlatScreen) and taking a walk outside for 20 minutes.... works really well for "Me" AND my Blood Pressure.....

Got to be great being that far away from the clueless masses. Around here turning off the tube helps but DON'T go out amongst the idiots.

I agree!! Turning off everything and reading does me just right. Going for a walk works well as long as i go east, west and i run into either the obummer nation or the idiots!!
