Any recommended shows or movies to check out? Survival related or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree. YouTube has many channels and videos that will give you good information. Just search survival, prepardness, or outdoor skills. Improvise, Adapt, Modify, and Overcome. FTM/PTB
I dropped my Netflix account since they stopped adding new movies and shows --they lost their Starz account too I believe. I will link a few YouTube videos on survival. Once you watch even one of them, you can go to the sidebar and follow shows all day long. Alaska: National Geographic (lots of listings in sidebar): Ray Mears Wild Food, Episode 1 (tons more in sidebar): Ray Mears Bushcraft S01E02:
Mrs. Snake and I watched a British series called Survivors on Netflix. A flu epidemic wipes out nearly everyone except 1 in 1,000 who were immune. It touches on some reasonable issues which will arise and made me come up with a few new contingencies.
We dropped Netflix since they started raising their rates and reducing available content. Youtube is ok...there's another free one out there, but the name escapes me at the moment...
that was a book and then a series in the '70s, and then they've recently remade it. I prefer the old series. For one thing there were a couple or three seasons of it, at 23 or so episodes per season; the new one was two "seasons" of maybe six episodes each. Jeremiah was good, and Jericho of course. We have Netflix but it spends about half the year on hold, and we have no paid TV services, just rabbit ears.
I have Jericho on queue as well. Hadn't heard of Jeremiah, what's that one about? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We recently dropped netflix, we had the "streaming only" plan. We originally had the streaming plus dvd rental and when they split that plan up last year we went to streaming only. Then it seemed that many of the shows we wanted to watch or were watching, started to not be available for streaming, dvd only. The selection of movies dwindled to old "B" movies, nothing current. So we dropped them. I would rather use redbox, PPV on my directTV or do the Blockbuster streaming rental. thought about doing the paid membership with Hulu, just don't know if it's worth it or not.
I had both too until the switch and kept just streaming. If I didn't have two little boys that love kids section I'd prob drop it too. But since I have it that's why I was looking for some recommendations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have been thinking of dropping cable & just having an antenna and Netflix. After reading these posts I am thinking twice.
Jeremiah is a show which takes place about 15 years after a virus kills most of the adult population of the world over (the age of) puberty. It's incredibly gritty (especially the first few episodes of the first season) and fascinating. The two main characters build a friendship and explore the remains of society and often find themselves in trouble until they end up becoming leaders themselves and must bear the responsibilities and hardships of taking lives into their hands. The primary goal for these two ends up being cemented after they find a hidden government base in the mountains where a large group has lived secluded without outside influence all this time. As they build their towns and alliances, new threats emerge and constantly keep them struggling to survive a bitter world. Should they give in to a massive army coming to conquer them and face living in another world just like the one they already lost, or will they try to build a new one which is better? In my opinion, it is J. Michael Straczynski's best creation.
http://www.1channel.ch/ I also have OTA only . Since the "Digital" only , lost a few channels of the same crap . I purchased a new digital antenna , amp, rotator & LED TV , all for under 500.00 usd. That is the next 10 year blabber box. Cable companys wired BS of propaganda cost are totally out of control. We dropped there so called high speed ISP services. they priced themselves out of reality for adsl basic of the same speed here . Plus they were a RUDE company to deal with. Sloth
I know some people that dropped cable and use Hulu plus, Netflix steaming and the project free tv for what they can't get on the other two like current AMC shows. I'm in a contract right now with dish or I'd consider the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
