Apparently, the version that is still running (and no longer supported) may have up to a couple hundred security holes. If you run windows and Safari, now might be a good time to switch to something else. Apparently anyone running macs on Leopard and below are also in the dark and the security flaws are present there too. "Safari is for users of Mountain Lion"

Apple doesn't do Security Updates further back than two previous OS Versions..... With the release of Mountain Lion, Snow Leopard is the last supported OS for Security Updates. It also makes sense for them to drop the Windoz Version, with Microsquash pushing their Darling Inet Explorer 9, with such fanfare. Most of the issues with browsers are Stack Overflows, and Buffer Overflows, and these are just bad coding in the first place.

As an Apple user since 1984, I have to say that Apple has gotten just about as bad as Microsquishy with regard to "planned obsolescence" of software over the past few years. But, at least, their hardware retains a longer useful life.
