Just one of those interesting sites if you had some money burning a hole in your pockets.

I like it....it would be great for my rail and bus commutes. There's always some bastard having a loud inane telephone conversation disturbing my inner peace. I'd like to see an affordable a cell phone user brain scrambler as an adjunct to a cell phone transmission scrambler.....just a thought.

I would say that judicious use of this type of disruptive technology is required.
If it's used willy nilly, then you are no longer in stealth mode, you are now being actively sought.

It might be able to jam stuff, but once you are on their radar, you might be the one getting jammed if you catch my drift.

My remarks were tongue in cheek, but you are right. It ought be prudent to consider that electronic jamming is a possibility in a TEOTWAWKI scenario and a plan B, C, D and so on should be prepared for just such a contingency. As you suggest, indiscriminate use of this technology is likely to be counter productive.

Just a NOTE, here: Just so you understand, that these are illegal to Import or Sell, in the USofA, and the FINE for doing so is $50KUS for each unit Imported or Sold, and 5 years in a Federal GrayBar Hotel. The FCC is not just its usual Paper Tiger self, when it comes to interfering with Wireless Common Carriers. They actively go after these devices, in a BIG Way. (Think Terrorist Plot to disrupt Comms) That same FINE and Sentence is also used for anyone caught using such a device. SO, If you feel "Lucky" you can play "Russian Roulette" with the FEDs.... ..... YMMV.....

Well, another fine idea shot down by the voice of common sense. Just when Chell had a plan I agreed with too. Thanks alot BT,oh well, back to the anarchist cookbook for some light reading.

Bt, that's not entirely so; they sell them here and have for several years. They manufacture them here and have for years. As much as the FCC would like to make us all think they are omnipotent, the only thing they can and do go after is the ones being used for nefarious events on a bigger scale than having one installed in your theater.

Sea, There have been 12 or more cases just this year, where the FCC has fined Importers of such devices. Customs now confiscates them on Import, if they find them. There was a Federal Prison Warden, that got in very Deep Do Do, for using one to stop his inmates from making calls with smuggled Cellphones. The US Marshal, all but had to Lock him up in his own prison, to get it turned off. If you are NOT Military, or operating under A FEDERAL Agency Permit, issued by the Office Of Scientific Inquiry, which does Permitting for ALL Federal Agencies, they WILL come looking for you, when you turn these ON, and in most cases, once they locate you, they bring a US Marshal along on the FIRST Visit. He does the Heavy Lifting, should the operator not get the message, on First Contact. This is all being spurred by the Wireless Industry, protecting their Bandwidth, that they paid the FEDs, Good Money For.... Never get between a Comm Corp and their Bandwidth.... It is will get NASTY if you do.... The only other thing that gets more attention, by the FCC, is Rogue FM Broadcasters, that pop up all the time. Those guys get slapped with $50K fines every time they catch them...... ...... YMMV.....

I repeat what I said, Bruce. They are illegal, you are correct in that. The FCC will try to charge you with "Theft of Property" since they basically sell airwave to stations but on the other side, so called "Law Enforcement" commonly use them. The Secret Service uses them. The Gestapo uses them...oh...I forget, I already said that. Many of the better ones, including the one I own, are made right here in America.

ENFORCEMENT: FCC CREATES TOLL FREE NUMBER TO REPORT CELLPHONE AND GPS
    JAMMING

The FCC wants your help in locating anyone who is using a cellular
telephone or GPS jamming device and to do this the Commission's
Enforcement Bureau has launched a dedicated jammer tip line at
1-855-55-NOJAM or 1-855-556-6526. This, to make it easier for the
public to report the use or sale of illegal cell phone, GPS or other
    signal jammers.

As has been said many times before, it is against the law to use,
import, advertise, sell or ship a cellular telephone or GPS jammer or
any other type of device that blocks, jams or interferes with
authorized communications, whether on private or public property. As
such, members of the public are being asked to call the FCC's toll free
Jammer Tip Line immediately if you are aware of the ongoing use of a
cell, GPS, or other signal jammer. Also please call if an employer
operates a jammer in a workplace; you observe a jammer in operation at
a school or college; you observe an advertisement for a jammer at a
local store or you observe a jammer being operated on your local bus,
train or other mass transit system.

One warning. This number is only for use to report cellphone or GPS
jamming devices. Please do not call it to report that your favorite
repeater is being jammed or that your QSO on 20 meters is being
interfered with. Those matters will not be handled on this telephone
line and will be of no interest to those taking cellphone or GPS
    jamming device calls.

Once again, the number where to report the use of cellphone or GPS
jamming is 1-855-55-NOJAM or 1-855-556-6526. And calling that number
    is toll free. (FCC)
