Just a bump in the financial road. They will raise the limit just like every other year. I also bet they will cut the austerity out of the fiscal cliff that cuts defense spending. These companies have too powerful a lobby. We will all know that it is a problem, the rest of the world for the moment will look the other way. What are you going to buy, the Yuan or the Euro for safe harbor? I am not saying this because I believe it is right, it is simply the cold truth. The world says they want to dump the dollar, but what are they going to buy? Yuan - all number are fairy tale made up. Yes, they will be an economic powerhouse, but for now they live in a quasi-state capitalist/communist fantasy land. Believe me, there is a huge bubble that will burst in China that will take many more years to fix than our current US bubble. There are ghost cities that have been/are being developed. Euro - Enough said. Buy at your own risk. The one thing we have going for us is the fact we still drive the world's financial engine and are the "mental" engine for the majority of the changes. Will this last forever, no, but there is no real safe haven other than the swiss franc and that has given up the price of their currency and given them a challenge to export goods. Perhaps there is some middle eastern currency you want to invest in with all this arab springing going around. Saudi, Emirates, Qatar? I don't think so. How about the Ruble? Nothing like seeing the communist hand of putin rising and consolidating power. No thanks. The Rupee? Yes, largest democracy, but wow do they have a messed up government system. Their central bank is too controlling and dictates everything people can invest into and out to. Very difficult country to do business in.
