This seems to be the best place to go. I'm amazed at how well informed the Monkeys are, so here goes...
What is the difference between a prefix of DL or CL on a lithium battery? I am preparing to purchase a dozen or so for a red dot scope and need to know if there is a difference and what it might be.
What is the best way to store these batteries for longest life?
    Thanks.

I'm going to guess that those prefixed with DL are duracell brand.
my kodak lithiums had a K in front.
It's a manufacturing thing to differentiate their mfg's way better battery from the competitors and sticking it in the manual to use only their brand of battery.

These are size 2032. I have had one installed in a red dot scope, unused for at least 4 years that still works. I also had another scope, same type, different brand, with a different mfg 2032 battery that sat idle for 3 years and still seems to have juice.

This seems to make perfect sense to me. I wonder if antone makes a rechargeable version. I'd love to get as many 'high-tech' items as practical that could be recharged using solar, if that's feasable.

    yeah, it's a basic button battery. DL2032 CL2032 CR2032 KCR2032 it's still a 2032. 20 mm diameter, 3.2mm thick. voltage is 3v

I have a bag of lithium batteries for an Aimpoint that I no longer have. I need to dig them out and test them. Lithiums are fairly low discharge so they should be pretty good.

I don't think you have much in the way of rechargeable options for those batteries. This is one of the main reasons that I run solely with Trijicon - no batts required.

The standard "lithium" Coin type cell is NOT rechargeable, as a Matter of Chemistry... The more recent "Lithium Polymer" type cells ARE Rechargeable, using an appropriate Charging algorithm and device.
