Picture taken during a hike this summer on the Pacific Crest Trail on Mt. Hood at approx 6000 ft. in elevation.

Looking up at the rock formation called Mississippi Head, with ZigZag Canyon to the left and forward.

Standing on a bridge looking down at a fishing hole on the Grande Rhonde River, from a trip a few weeks ago. My pickup and one of my best friends in the background fishing. We had this spot and the stretch of river in background to ourselves all day. We went over Veterans Day weekend and stayed till Wednesday. Caught a bunch of out of season native trout but no steelhead. Damnit!!!

Before I even read the caption, I knew that had possibilities for trout. Did I was there, I'd a been exactly where your friend was.

I had a feeling you might know about that spot plus countless others on that river. We came into Troy via Enterprise and dropped down to the river about midnight in the snow. I must say on the trip out, I got to see the canyon I went down in the dark and snow. Good thing I was in no hurry to get there, as it would have been a quick trip to the bottom.

Wish I would of had more time to explore the Eagle Cap Wilderness but did check out Wallowa Lake and the Little Alps village at the lake.

Too bad we had to catch and release them but still fun nonetheless. We went over to catch steelhead but had to settle for catching a buzz in one of the most beautiful places to visit in Oregon.

Those are accumulators for the pitch system. They act as a reserve in case of power failure to pitch to stop position. Also they will absorb hammering pressures.

biglaff Sometimes, it's the little things that make my day. Thanks for that ;)

    Oh wait, that's not right...

I wonder what would actually happen if one did pack their muzzle loader full of seashells. Would it just blow up and end up as dust?

And here are some lovely MUSSELS:

So glad you find a typo amusing. Glad I could make your day that easily. I don't have one yet, so I guess I'll need to spell it before I buy it.;)

Just one of the trout we did not get to keep. We did not get many pics of them, as most of the time we were not fishing close to one another. Not the biggest caught that day by any means.

Personally never caught this species before and the best identification I came up with from ODFW Regs was Brook Trout.
