As if you're a sex offender or something http://www.lohud.com/interactive/article/20121223/NEWS01/121221011/Map-Where-gun-permits-your-neighborhood-?nclick_check=1 Sent from my Kindle Fire
This is a thefts dream come true!! I wonder if this will backfire if someone gets robbed because they know which houses aren't armed. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Just another twist in the way the STASI has the useful idiots working for them. Remember "if you see something say something"? The state allows a small amount of info out and relies on the furtive sheep to escalate against those that would oppose the power of the state. Look for these things to become more common now.
Outstanding! Now the criminals have a shopping map of housholds to burgle, home invade and generally pillage where there is a much diminished chance of being confronted by a licensed firearm owner. It also provides a shopping list of places where they can steal firearms if they have the smarts and the chutzpah to take that kind of a project on....brilliant! Criminals of course will have to take their chances with the unlicensed and the illegal firearm owner, but heck...the odds are still better than before the map was produced. Perhaps local licesnsed firearms owners might appreciate a map of all of the reporters, journalists, editors, managers, executives, CEO, Board members and shareholders of the publication that thoughtfully published the map. Licensed gun owners identified in that rag's journal would probably like to know...I'm sure that they would appreciate the attention....naturally each address will be cross referenced to google streetview. I can see a class action being taken against the "news" journal if anyone is killed or harmed by perps using the information in the gun map to target victims. Helping criminals to be more efficient in scoping potential victims is...simply outstanding. It would interesting to know whether any of the newspaper journal employees whom are licensed firearm owners were included on that list...or whether they were omitted...if not included they should be shown up as the hypocrits that they would seem to be.
I got an idea, have all the marks moved a few houses each way.....The armed will be the unarmed, the unarmed will be the armed. That could make the best of a bad situation.
Those people should be sued! If for nothing more than INVASION of PRIVACY!! they should publish the addresses of their employees/ hours they're at work/ salaries/etc.etc., I hope nothing bad happens to anybody listed, but I agree with Chelloveck, they should lose everything for being so stupid! just sayin
The inverse of this is to point out that all addresses NOT published are much less likely to have an armed defense waiting an intruder. "Dear robbers, yes my home definitely is protected by guns. Homes not listed are probably softer targets. Being a law abiding citizen as indicated by my permit, I do not have illegal drugs or other contraband, unlike some of the houses without gun permits and not listed. My house is boring with a hot lead reception. Many other city residents don't even believe in armed self-defense. Your choice. "
Home invaders road map to soft targets!! If i was a criminal this would Deffinately be another tool in my toolbox of tricks and methods to mayhem!! On another note it may be worthy to print out for future reference if you live in the area. Post SHTF it may be useful for scrounging of spare parts, weaps and ammo.
Wish media/politicians could get their heads out of their butts and stop using every mass murder as political talking points. I probably would be wasting my breath to tell those people that I live in an 'adequately' armed neighborhood, and in the 7years we've been here, none of the residents have gone on an armed rampage. Posting the map is just stupid(and dangerous). But consider the source and it's not surprising.
OK . . . moron lib identified . . . I'm sure he will think his privacy has now been invaded. How 'ya like the 1st Amendment now Dwight??
Sauce for the goose or, home address and phone number of Journal-News publisher | For What It’s Worth Addresses, phone numbers, info on everyone involved, from the publisher to the writer to the one who designed the map itself, and so on.
It seems that a number of other people had the same thoughts as me. I still think that any of the journal's employees who are registered firearm owners or firearm permit holders that weren't listed on the maps should be outed in the same way that the journal chose to out the permit holders in those two NY counties. No hypocrit should be left unrecognised!
That gannett company looks like it owns usa today paper too. We should boycott them. Next time I am staying at a hotel I frequent for work I wll mention it to them too.
Merry Christmas, Eva Braun / Janet Hasson! [updated: Did reporter / paper break the law? Probably not.] | protein wisdom
