I've met some good and honorable lawyers that would have refused the case. Ol' Irv ain't one of them.
Really I expected the first lawsuit to pop up to be from a parent of a deceased kid against Bushmaster.

Someone is always trying to cash in on tragic events. The lawyer probably called every family 50 times trying to drum up some business- ambulance chaser!!! I watched his interview last night and he is a piece....... But with today's society, we all knew the lawsuits were coming.
I’m not a lawyer but it seems to me the DOE, Commissioner and Board of Education are going to have a difficult time arguing they took “…appropriate steps to protect children from foreseeable harm." If the petitioner is successful in the lawsuit, it will greatly strengthen NRA’s position of trained armed security in the schools nationwide and will widely be accepted and endorsed as the solution to school children’s safety by parents and educators.

Well, in their defense, the bulletproof backpack has been around for sometime before Sandyhook. I had thought about getting one as early as September of last year for my kids.
