Thoughts on gun grabs

Perhaps it's time to take a break from forums and youtube for a little bit so my mind doesn't explode, but first I'd like to get this off my chest. I'm just trying to add a little sanity to my day here.

I've watched videos, and read articles and forum posts about gun grabs like what happened in New Orleans, but there are a few things that I'd like to discuss.

First, if/when this were to happen, I think it would either happen on a local level like in New Orleans or on a massive scale nationwide. Logistically, I don't see how they could pull off a massive gun grab without word getting out, because there simply are too many people with firearms. I think when they start there would be resistance and casualties. I'm not talking about the average white-collar guy in the suburbs and his shotgun he uses twice a year (not trying to stereotype, you get my point), I mean can you imagine trying to disarm the city of L.A. or the worst neighborhoods of Chicago? I don't see that going well for any force trying to disarm them, no doubt there would be casualties on both sides. Once news gets out of this and there is bloodshed, I don't think people would remain quiet for long. Nor do I think any politician has the stomach for that. Am I being overly optimistic?

So if we know communication is key to getting the word out and organizing (and one of the first things you do in any invasion is destroy comms), do we watch for a false flag or other attack that would cripple Comms? How about the internet kill switch they have been pushing for? Am I connecting way too many dots here?

Maybe I had a little too much sugar this morning...

The only way this happens is if they make us give them up.. as in turn them in ourselves. Logistically, it would be financially and personnel crippling to do a confiscation. Again, if we were the army of self confiscators, it would be the only way. However, I would never turn them in.

    Dear Mr. Gordon:

Thank you for contacting me about the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

I was shocked by this horrifying event, and my heart goes out to the victims, families and the Sandy Hook community as they face this tragedy. This was a terrible, senseless crime against some of the most vulnerable.

In the aftermath of this awful crime, we must be vigilant about addressing future threats to public safety. There is no simple solution, but I do not believe more restrictive gun laws will prevent criminals from committing acts of violence. I have always been and continue to be a strong defender of Second Amendment rights for law-abiding citizens.

I believe this tragedy, and the shooting earlier this year in Aurora, Colorado, illustrate a pressing need to improve mental health services in this country. The Sandy Hook shooter was in early adulthood, a time when mental illnesses frequently develop. I have introduced a bill, S. 3325, the Mental Health First Aid Higher Education Act of 2012, to improve mental health services on college campuses. This legislation would establish a program to provide training to faculty members, dormitory resident advisors, and other members of the college community to recognize the signs of mental illness and safely address crisis situations.

We must do more to keep our communities and families safe, and legislation like this is an important step in the right direction. I will continue working with my colleagues in the Senate to promote mental health services and prevent violence.

Thank you again for contacting me about this tragedy. Please continue to be in touch with your thoughts and concerns.

    Sincerely,Mark BegichU.S. Senator iqtrk.gif?crop=14533.6401189.5182489.

they won't even attempt to gather all the guns. They'll simply make them illegal, give you a grace period to turn them in, then you're a criminal if you still have them. Now you will be living in fear of your neighbors and friends, your kids will be offered bribes to turn you in, etc. You've seen the movies from the Soviet Union, the secret police have ears everywhere.
You'll hear of some poor guy being dragged out of his house now and then, just to make sure you're paying attention. They don't need to get your guns. They just need to make you afraid for anybody to find out you have them, just as good.

My guess is a couple of high-profile, Charleton Heston types (e.g., Ted Nugent, John Voight) winds up dead with a bunch of holes through them and their house burnt with the intentions of scaring the rest of us into compliance.

It's a good time to invest in NVGs or a FLIR system . . . cause they're gonna come at night with their coward-a$$ baklavas on.

could it happen in our lifetimes, maybe, but the following would need to be successful:

1st: guns would need to be illegal to transfer to others without the all (in)famous tax stamp. No not the current NFA tax stamp, the tax stamp like the one for MJ, yep it's available but nope, we aren't issuing them.
outright banning them doesn't seem to be pallateble to the people, but we seem to accept, NFA 1934, 1968, AWB of 1994. So they might try the illegal to trans.

And if they wanted to sweep up most of the weapons at one time, the following

    Must happen:
No Comms. No radio, no phone, no internet
a willing media (newspaper journalists owned and controlled by TPTB)
No sense in letting them knowing that gun collection is on the way.

    Needs to happen:
Have the majority of the people run to the government for help
Maybe it's a dollar collapse or some reason that food and fuel are beyond obtainable.
Maybe it's Natural or Manmade disaster that strikes a large area of the CONUS.
But, the Sheeple will flock to FEMA for help but will be disarmed for it.
Now the sheeple ain't got weapons and they are under the watchful eye of TSADHSFEMA

I'd guess that maybe 30-40 percent of all citizen owned weapons would be turned in to get in to the camps for food/shelter/security (bwahahha)

some of the sheeple got smart and hid them in their homes, yards.
bangers that wrapped them up out side the fence and stashed them to pick them up later when they got a few hots, a cot and wuz just waiting for the problem to subside.
but if the never get to go back on the other side of the wire, weapons are useless to them.

I'd hope they had at least traded them to 'Friends of Friends' that knew someone that was a prepper and he'd take 'em.

The starving, the cold, the sick. Yep, easy peasy, quick and sleazy. 75-80 percent of the population under control.

So what do we have now.
20ish percent of the population that doesn't want / need the governments help, And a super majority of them armed to the teeth.

Mexican Standoff? Smart money says government should just sequester us country bumpkins. But we know the government isn't so smart.

Again, these are just my thoughts. They won't be coming en mass to round up our guns with out some serious controls in place and major events to happen first.

There are just not enough of them to get.
    All the people
    all the guns
    at the same time.
without the alert being sent out.

When the people start running to the government with open hands willing to do anything to stay fed, clean and warm. If every non prepper neighbor is coming to you, asking for help or a handout. If your stupid sister from 3 states away is calling you to see if they can move in right now.

Yep, that would be the time i'd be looking for them to be coming. Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo

Peace (It's only a story plot peeps .. for now) Out!

Put yourself on the other side. You want the citizenry disarmed. Up until Sandy Hook, the public was cool to the idea in general--Giffords, Aurora, CO didn't really sway public opinion. But after SH, even pro-gun people started changing their minds. The images of those little white angels (no disrespect meant), excited about the upcoming Christmas holiday made them sick at their stomach (I know it did me). It really hit home. Emotion swept the country and now people want guns banned period (never mind the higher body count of blacks in Chicago . . . . "meh, they were probably doing something bad.")

So, you're on the other side . . . the mastermind of the last 3 massacres. You want a complete ban and the best way for that to happen is to have the public beg for it. The minority of gun owners will have no choice, but to turn in their guns peacefully.

What do you do? Shoot a politician? Nope, didn't work. Spray a theater full of young adults? Nope . . . nada. Mow down a bunch of white kids and plaster their faces over covers of all magazines. Bingo. That got some traction. One more ought to do the trick.

Send some agents out now to look for a crazy person to enter in "the reconditioning" program. Well, you know the rest . . . .

I got a letter back from one of my Senators. He basically said what the letter above said, though his included if I needed counseling to deal with the Aurora shooting and the Sandy Hook, he included a 1-800 number. I believe it will be a reward system for ratting out gun owners once legislation is passed. People are so beaten down and so tired by just tiring to get by that most of them have lost there fight, have lost their way. I see IL, NY and CO all have politicians introducing bills. IL is meeting resistance, NY's is scary and I have read CO's yet. I read a book series by Bracken- and it is scary how quickly things could breakdown.

No, they would isolate each compound, and gas 'em. There are regurgitants, designed to force a gas mask off to puke, teargas, crowd control tactics. There is a remote controlled riot robot out now that fires rubber bullets, a lot of them. Tazers, knee knockers, and riot gear.
If they come, it will be house to house, one compound at a time, with overwhelming force applied.
And if you shoot to defend yourself, it will be called an escalation, from a peaceful attempt to disarm a psychopath, to a massacre:( .

My question is would the military really participate in this. I have seen threads regarding this but if it goes as Kellory above described then it will have to have military co-operation. I think many of the crooked cops are bullies. Bullies will either run away crying or fight like a rabid dog.

Also, Cato's comment one more oughta do is alarming in that Sandy Hook maybe one upped. Sandy Hook was devastating.

I don't know why most posts about this are all the same. Wait for them to come to you, fight and die. If the gun grab starts, "it is on" and everyone needs to bring the fight to them before they have a chance to start their operations. I know, I should STFU, just got put on another .goob list.

Divide a conquer, has been the norm since the beginning. When men band together to fight, it's a militia, or an army. Men fight for a cause together, yet seem to always defend themselves alone. We can't live in each other's pockets. yet separately, we can not support each other well. It will be house to house, one at a time.

Yep and we got pool bleach and I hear out in the country they have insecticide and fertilizer too.

There won't be too many Ruby Ridge incidents before word gets out. Then the hunters will become the hunted. It will be a game of attrition.

We are human, we just don't want to believe that our own kind would want to intentionally harm us. We rightly or wrongly believe in the goodness in the hearts of others.

Some of us will react quickly others slowly.

fool me once shame on the goob. fool me twice shame on me. fool me a few more times, well, let's just say the goob won't fool anyone after that.

Once the citizens can see them for their true intentions, I'm betting no one is going to be waiting at the house for them to come a knocking.

Peace (where is that castor bean plant again) Out.
