Vice President Joe Biden said he will send President Barack Obama recommendations for ways in which the administration should respond to recent gun violence "by Tuesday."
Biden made the statement on Thursday at the start of a task force meeting with sportsmen and wildlife interest groups, noting the "narrow window" of time the president had set to respond to the December school shootings in Newtown, Conn. The president had asked Biden to issue recommendations by the end of January.
Areas of discussion for Biden's task force have included assault weapons, high-capacity magazine clips, background checks for gun buyers, mental health and gun trafficking, according to Biden, White House officials and meeting attendees. Additionally, Biden revealed on Thursday that the ability for federal agencies to research gun violence has been discussed.
The vice president on Thursday highlighted high-capacity magazines and "universal background checks" as two areas about which he's heard significant calls for reform.
Biden, like the president and other White House officials, noted again that combating gun violence will require a comprehensive response. There's "no single answer," Biden said.
Biden meets later Thursday with representatives from gun owners groups, including the NRA, and is set to hold a separate meeting with representatives from the entertainment industry.

.22's with tubular magazines are some of the very few excluded models.

I'm going just by the printed word of the simiauto ban list. Funny thing is....My Glenfield model 60 simiauto was a gift from my Father. No one will take that one from me. Period.

0bama-Biden are more than willing to test your "period."

As they seem to believe an Executive Order contains the power to override the Bill of Rights; they are totally out of control. Or in the same class as Adoph Hitler.

    Hand-me-down guns

I always hear guys all exited about the newest, greatest gun to hit the market. Guns untried, virgin and unblooded, pristine and perfect in every detail, and I got to wonder what all the fuss is about. I have only purchased one new long gun and one revolver ( for a different kind of job,) in my whole life. It seems to me that guns carry the scars and their traditions from one generation to the next, to the next. My father started with a single shot 12ga, at a very early age, walking the fields with his dad also armed with a single shot 12ga. Get him talking about hunting, and to this day he will talk of his father downing 4 quail with two shots, reloading as he spun, and catching both pair in front and behind! They hunted or they didn't eat. Grandpa's guns are divided among his children now, to pass on when another hunter comes of age. My father spent his first paycheck to buy his father a new shotgun. It was a 12ga. Mossberg 3 shot bolt action with a clip and a polychoke, It was a prized possession for many years, both because of what it was (a fine weapon) and where it came from. That gun now rests in my hands, and it is the best small game/ bird gun I have ever had the pleasure to fire. It now has a lineage and a history to pass on to my son, a second year hunter, first year deer hunter( if the girls will leave him alone long enough icon_e_wink. ) Or he may prefer the Sterlingworth sideXside 12ga. 100years old, and still ready and eager to take to the fields and the woods. These two old timers are joined by the youngster of the group,(only around 30 years) Savage 22/.410ga. over and under, and this is the first gun we All learned as children to hunt with. Legal here in Ohio for anything from deer down to squirrels, and much prized by all members of the family male and female, because this is where our hunting memories started, walking the fields with my father, and later with my sister and brother. That gun is now in the hands of my nephew as he learns what it is to be a hunter with his father(my brother) and his younger brother is envious though to small to carry it yet. New guns are fine I'm sure, but for me and mine, it's the old guns that carry the traditions and the scars, and the lore . Hand-me-down guns are forged links of shared memories and family connections. To carry my Grandfather's gun, as he did, matters more to me than some bones on the wall ever could."
About a year after I wrote these words, my Father gave me his Glenfield model 60. He is too old and in too poor health to hunt anymore. It could be the last thing I have to remember him by, as I pass it on to my son, and tell him about his GrandFather.
Anyone trying to take that gun, might as well try to take my memories. I will not part with it, and there isn't coin enough to buy it.

    If you were addressing me.
From hammer guns to old low brass shotguns etc, so do I. Without a lengthy discourse, I have been reloading (rifle, shotgun and pistols) since the late 1950s. Until the middle 1960s we hunted more to fill the pot than for sport. I shot NRA 30 Cal before I graduated HS.

My point was, your initial post sounded as if you put trust in 0bama-Biden's words. I consider them lying sobs; no disrespect to their offices but to them personally.

Now that we know what you would do for yourself; what would you do if they decide to confiscate ARs or etc?

I don't honestly know. i crossed that line once before in open court, when I threatened to sue a judge for dereliction of duty. I asked (at the top of my lungs, mind you) "What is the proper procedure, in the court of L.A. to sue a JUDGE for dereliction of duty?!!!"
(I was being dragged from the court room at the time) but at the time, I had been laid off, was on a month to month lease, and had no wife or kids. No one else's future hinged on my actions, and I was mad enough to do jail time, if that was what it took to be heard. A very angry judge finally heard me out, did a 180, and threw my case out. This was in the hill street court building, about 20years ago. There should be an apologetic letter in my file (though I have never seen it).
Now, I'm the sole income, (my wife can no longer work due to health reasons) there is a mortgage, one kid in college, another in the batter's circle, and everything rides on my back. I don't know where my line will really be.
As for trusting the liar in chief, forget it. I simply laid out what had been printed. As per that list, .22 tubular magazine rifles were excluded from the ban list.
The Liar in Chief, may force me into being a criminal, but he will not part me from my heritage.
