someone please tell me they have peed off the top of one of these wind towers. With the proper amount of pressure, one could really get some distance.

Myth-busters proved you could not get a stream to flow 3' to a live third rail. It broke up quickly, as it fell. You would never know how far away it fell, even if it didn't evaporate as it fell.;)

I wouldn't trust anything MB's say They said you can't robin hood an arrow. Well I can personally say they are wrong several times over.
You can get some distance Clyde and it is in the form of yellow drop lets. I've watched mine drift a long ways. Some days they spiral down like they are on a spiral stair case.
The #2 is the one too look out for !!!!! That tends to go straight down more than out.

I have split a few shafts myself.:D In fact, I tested out of PE in school , when archery was a required course. My dad got such a thrill out of it, that my 16th birthday present was an Indian Stalker compound bow that I still use today. My recurve that i learned to hunt with (and split the shaft with), just got passed on recently.

besides, I didn't say no droplets, I said no flow (stream, flow enough for the third rail of the subway)
A spotter, you don't like, could tell you where they landed, but not from that high up, in the wind. (too small/ too far);)

yea I knew what you ment. Just affirming droplets are it. You can gauge distance, just wait for the operators to start screaming on the radio they are getting wet. ;)

As soon as the wind dies down, we will dry ice the hollow shaft, and apply massive heat to the shrink disk. and push with 2- 30 ton hydraulic rams and pull with 2- 6 ton chain hoists. And cuss alot.
    Cant wait for Miller time.

@Quigley_Sharps, You might want to look at Liquid Nitrogen, if the Dry Ice doesn't work.... Liquid Carboxyl has Doers in stock, I suspect, in Portland, if not closer, or maybe Boise.....

Ever used one of these quik freeze kits for piping. Not sure how large the shaft is you are working on but these kits use carbon dioxide. There might be a plumbing contractor locally that has one or call a equipment rental outfit to see if they rent them. Just a thought!
