I am looking for a book I had about 20 years ago. It was an encyclopedia style book of weapons of the world. It had a little of everything from pistols to sub machine guns to belt feds, tanks, APC, multiple rocket systems, artillery, and even ICBMs. It had a white background on the cover with pictures of various weapons and wasn't quite a coffee table book but was larger than a normal hard cover.

Hoping someone knows what I am talking about. Been searching amazon for it and the only possibility I have found doesn't have a pic of the cover.

You would know the cover. have you tried a google search for the image? That might give you a lead. At least it would give you the proper name of the book.

Could be small arms of the world. Haven't seen one lately so couldn't describe the cover.

I believe I will as soon as I get home from work today. I had that book when I was a kid and want to pass it along to my son too. He just turned 8 and loves weapons. He is a walking encyclopedia himself.

Another book you may like is "A glossary of the Construction, Decoration, and Use of Arms and Armor in all countries and in all times" by George Cameron Stone" ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES / Firearms & Weapons Books - Used Books at Biblio.com Page:8 these go for around $20. used. These are personal weapons up to, and including gun powder. I have this one:editions:ISBN: 0-517-065878
(give me the name of a weapon, and I can find it. cross referenced, and most have pictures.)

side note(your book) buy two at that price, one for a loaner.

I may have to pick up that one for myself. The one I was looking for will be for me too but will share with my boy for a while.

Its a good book. Being it came out over 2 decades ago a lot of the weapons are outdated but still has a lot of info from when war with the ruskies were fresh on our minds.

I recall they even have some French weapons in there. Must have been relics from when they were invaded by other countries.

    Link?

Me too. I also like digital age too but would rather look at a book or magazine.

They don't change when I go back to it either, like an on line source. I like the feel of it, it adds context.

Exactly. I was reading a book the other day I had read before at least 4 times and it felt like I was reading it for the first time. And no, I have no early onset mental problems. Well at least not those kind.
