Fire the teacher, and DEMAND a Written Apology, from the Principle, District Admin, & School Board, along with a CLEARLY Stated District Policy, that outlines MANDITORY Dissiplinary Action, should there be ANY FURTHER violations by ANY Teacher, or Staff, PERIOD....

What's really sad, is she was the only one who refused. I don't think today's kids really have any concept of what saying the Pledge actually means, or what the flag stands for.

Not a problem, the Federales will teach them all they need to know about the dull end of a hoe and the hard edge of a rifle butt.

This is why I teach my son to challenge his teachers if he believes somethis they ask / tell him to do does not "feel right".

Yeah I've had to talk with the principal more than once but my son and I stand up for what we believe.

I'll be danged if he becomes just another mindless follower.

Are any of you here aware of a book called "a Children's Story by James Clavell"? If you haven't read it you probably should. It is small and can be read in less than an hour. It is both worth the read, and to have on hand for friends and family with young children to read.

@tacmotusn, @ditch witch , thank you both. I'm going to print out copies of that story for our Young Men's & Women's groups in church. That is a very powerful story.

Actually the Writers prolog to the story was quite telling in itself. He wrote this story in less than an hour after getting the idea from his daughter who had just come home from her first day of school. He asked he if she had fun. She told him yes and that she had met some new friends. He asked her if she learned anything on her first day of school. She beamed him a beautiful smile, and said, yes daddy I learned the pledge of allegiance. He hesitated for a second and then asked her, what does pledge mean? She looked confused and said, I don't know daddy. He asked he if she knew what allegiance means? She blurted, I don't know daddy, why are you asking me these questions, we only have to memorize it.

With those words, and the realization of what a blank slate a childs mind was he knew he had to write this book and warn other parents of how easily our childens minds could be corrupted if parents were not being vigilant about what they were being taught.

that story, is a prime example, of corruption, of a creeping evil, that should be stomped to death in it's infancy, and never be allowed to breed. [flag]
