They may be IED Resistant, but they are NOT going anywhere, if they are upside down..... They are NOT Flame Proof, or Burning Proof.... Those Rubber Tires, burn just spiffy, and when they are burning, the road miles covered, is significantly reduced, very quickly.... Ever wonder why Armor is ALWAYS accompanied by Infantry? .......

Also notice the air canisters on the rear axle. I'm sure a couple well placed 1/4" holes would make it so the air brakes engaged. Won't move then. Can only stay inside for so long!

I'm betting those are runflat tires. Wouldn't be too surprised to find those airbags are suspension, not brake related. Dunno --

They drive nice. I loved the MRAP's I drove.

Interesting feature: they all have basic screw-on fuel caps right on the outside and the tank is easily accessible. Also, the vehicle is designed to protect the inhabitants from small arms fire, RPG's and mines, but can be easily disabled. The whole front end is made from light metal and fiberglass, only the cab and backward is strengthened. The people inside stay happy and warm, but the vehicle won't move.

They may RunFlat, but they BURN just fine, and when the Rubber is gone, on even ONE of the tires, so is the vehicles Movement.... and Ground Clearance.... .....

That is sooooo wrong. I cannot believe what this country has become.

That is fine for open country, but in a Urban setting that thing is just "Toast from Above"... Heck even the Germans, in WWII, new better than to run Armor in Urban Settings.... It is just NOT DONE, even when you hold Air Superiority..... It just isn't that hard to fashion an IED, to flip this "Turtle" on its Back, or Side....
When are these guys going to learn, Not everyone, they are up against, is as Stupid, as the Sheeple they think they will be up against.....

Never have seen a differential or wheel bearing that will work after an armor piercing round hits it. Remember------"aim small--hit small". From the Bible---- "it is the little foxes that spoil the vine". Remember the old story that because of a horse shoe nail the battle was lost--nail, horse shoe, horse, rider, battle. Don't look at the big things--look at all problems from what components make them work.

Immobilize and preheat at 451 degrees and wait for the stuffing to exit via rear portal.
Extra points for skewering more than one of the giblets at a time.

I would be worried driving one of those if I had to drive across a road filled with 4x4 inch pieces of rubber tire across the road with 3 inch nails poking up through the rubber and the nails had the points ground to a barb, and they were set on fire just before I drove across them. I would be so worried about those burning pieces of rubber getting lodged in my tires and setting my tires on fire. I hope that never happens.

He was talking about "us", not "them". It seems they have a no competition contract with H&K for 4.5 mill. Gotta have spare parts if you're going to shoot a billion or two rounds.

I read that as if they can shoot out it's a weak point that can be shot in. I'm sure a bullet would bounce around in one of those quite well.

A bit of the right kitchen chemistry on the roof of that thing would make it empty out rather quickly. Even suburban areas have vantage points with enough height for easy roof access to that death trap. Can anybody say "Pull!"...

Yep... Armor in Urban Environments is just plain STUPID, without supporting Infantry.... Didn't these Yahoos learn ANYTHING from Iraq.... "Death from above"....
