Russian bomber conducts practice strikes on US missile defenses in Asia | Fox News Does anybody else here think that our foreign policy has displayed so much weakness that our enemies smell a soft target? The Russian's and Chinese know that our political environment is a mess and the president is a wussy tree huger. The wolves are always at the door waiting for the opening to strike.
This happened earlier this year (February) and they continue to probe and play the game of cat and mouse with us. Simple training missions on their part testing our reaction, but our weakness as well. Marianas Variety - Guam raises concern over Russian bombers
I feel genuinely sorry for the people such as those they chose to quote in that column; they don't understand the connection between incidents like this and the deteriorating economic and political environment of many nations in the world. The media is feeding them stories of growing aggression toward the US as delineated events from anything else going on.
I swear everybody on both sides is just trying to push the other to the point of firing the first shot, so the real war can start.
This is othing compared to what the Russkies used to do during the "Cold War". Submarines and surface ships used to bump into each other ay sea, I was stationed as a crash crew member and there were snapshots our aircrew guys had taken of the ruskkie planes where you could see their aircrew through their windows. Sometimes they'd be waving and other times they would ...make gestures. You'd be surprised how close these planes got to each other.
I know what you are saying... My brother in law had some nice pics from his two tours on the Carl Vinson- good times back then Look's like they might want to go back to those good ol days of "foreign relations"... Just like he told the Ruskies a while back before the re-election- Obummer has a bit more flexibility to give them what they want ... just like he promised them. (ruskies, obummer, all that apply)
We had no way of knowing if there were live weapons on board, and if I did I'd keep my yap shut about it.
Russians have been probing defense responses for many decades. They would fly Bear bombers across the Bering Strait once a week when I was stationed in Alaska way back in 1983. Kept it up the whole 2 years I was stationed there. Matter of fact, we started getting worried when a week went by and they DIDN'T violate Alaskan air space. Any yes, I saw some of those photos taken from F15's. Sometimes you would see the Russian aircrews with cameras of their own...
