Made on licence from FN this Browning designed pistol in 9mm Browning long served in the Swedish armed forces from 1907 up until 1988 (alongside a licenced version of the Finnish Lahti L-35 from ca 1940) and used by hundreds of thousands of young recruits this really represents the genius of John Moses Browning. This particular one was built by Husqvarna arms factory in 1933. After it was taken out of service it was bought by a sergeant (equivalent) with the Air Force and then sold to me as his eyes got worse.
Alot of people talk down on it because the problems with finding ammunition, but I got 3000 rounds with it so I wont run out anytime soon although I've shoot through a good 500 of them this last year. I'm reading up on handloading now :) Hearing you can use the .38 cartridge and shorten it.
The round is pretty much equivalent to a .38 ACP I've heard.
Getting a licence for a handgun in Sweden is not simple and requires active membership in a shooting club and a days worth of forms and a clean record and to get two I don't know what would be required. So I'm selling this in the future and I think I might go for a polymer 9mm of some sort. But she is a beauty.

    Hold on to your 2:nd!

Excellent firearm. I'd keep it. Very hard to improved on a Browning design. Plus, if you do run out of ammo, It can be used as a club!

Yeah, I'd love to keep it :( But licence laws here are insane. If I kept it I think I'd have to demilitarize it, and that feels like a horrible waste, rather see someone use it.
But, I'm looking for loopholes. I just heard that it's uncommon enough with a bit of luck to be considered a collectible in the eyes of the law, which might change things.

It is not a military caliber any more, ammo is not readily available.
    how would you demilitarize it?

I have a Colt Pocket .38 ACP of that same era.... Love to shoot it, when I can.... It is a handload Weapon these days as Winchester/Western hasn't done a 38 ACP Run in two decades, that I am aware of....

Ah, sorry. Plug it I think you'd say. Here we say that about, well, making the weapon unusable in a matter that it cannot be restored to working order.

Any weapon can be restored, unless it is melted down into scrap metal... ......

I've never been through this process myself but from what I heard they just weld or plug up the barrel and remove the hammer or bolt, depending on what type of weapon it is and here the barrel and what is called "the active part" is concidered the weapon, like the lower receiver is on an AR for you guys.

That's terrible! Are pistols not allowed in Sweden?

In the states, when they Demil a firearm .. it's usually in multiple pieces .. with a torch!

Well, you have to be a member of a shooting club for six months before purchasing one and then you have to apply for a licence, wich is pretty straight forwards really, background check and that. And then you have to remain an active member of the shooting club, as in compete atleast two times every year and go and renew your licence every six months. Gun safe is mandatory and there is talk about not being allowed to keep a handgun in your home anymore but that you have to store it at the club. I should move.
