    What will likely happen?
    My 2 cents worth.
First off nobody wants boots on the ground, so an air strike is all that’s left. Next bombing civilians would be a big no no, so surgical strikes on military targets are most likely.

Syria cannot really retaliate because it will escalate the conflict beyond their control. They will hem and haw, but do nothing, but perhaps use propaganda to decry baby killing, or some such.

Now for the other players. Israel will stay out of it as will Turkey, and Iran.

As for China, they backed down over Snowden so they will back down again.

Now for Russia, they will stir the pot, and keep the fire hot. They have the most to gain if the conflict continues and even expands, without their direct involvement that is.

Every day oil prices stay high Russia digs its way out of the hole she put herself in during the cold war. And every day the US and her allies are at war in the middle east, they dig their financial holes deeper. So Russia will not stop the madness if anything they will sell weapons to Syria, and Iran and laugh all the way to the bank.

Obama gets his war, the military industrial complex gets its kickbacks, and you and I foot the bill once again.

    Just my 2 cents

I have to wonder where the authorization to attack is going to materialize from. Isn't that waging war?

Nope the POTUS can call up the reserves all by his lonesome. He can also launch humanitarian missions without permission. That is why they are using the WMD card.

My god the humanity of it all 350 killed!!!!!!!!ohno

Out of a hundred thousand which don’t count because they didn’t use chemical weapons,[gasmask] which are “Outside International norms” Whatever the hell that’s suppose to mean. Obama wants his war and he will get it.[sawgunner]

If Syria does have gas, oh hell yeah they can retaliate. We are talking a dictator taking on a dicktater. If one is pushed into a no win situation, what do they have to lose?

Israel, they got a bunch of people that already dislike them. A serious regional conflict would give some group the motivation to strike at the heart of the thorn in their side. I don't think Israel will come out unscathed.

China and Russia will veto any security counsel action, so Obama will go in without congressional approval and our representatives will wag fingers.

The biggest losers will be europe as most of their oil comes through the Suez. Our supplies will be basically unaffected but prices will jump.

And, yes, war is good for those in the MIC. Gotta get out of the recession/depression somehow, QE doesn't seem to work, so they will try this.

Again, Maybe I'm just an optimist.

    As @VisuTrac said...
If you need to add fuel or re-supply or prep's.... no time like the present to buy that fuel, as we could see an increased price for gas quickly coming to the pumps in your town.... and if things go into a tail-spin regionally over there, the price per gallon could be high for some time. Prepare for the worst should be the current mantra.
    YMMV

prices jumped locally 20 cents today. I'm going to guess it'll do at least the same tomorrow.
I did how ever see a bunch of sheeple flooding the gas stations on the way home tonight. Very strange for a tuesday. Maybe they are getting smarter.

Bwahahaha, what was i thinking, nevermind .. back to your regularly scheduled program.

Hard to tell with the holiday weekend coming.... I think your 20 cents was just early profit taking and the true increase from this Syria action may still follow.....

It’s been four days since Kerry, spoke to Assad, and subsequently told the world the US would not stand by and do nothing. Basically telling him air strikes were on the way. So unless the Syrian military is run by a bunch of idiots. The Syrian military has scattered well away from bases, and likely surrounded by civilians by now. Their military Air Craft are likely hiding in Civilian airport hangers. An air strike at this point will be mostly symbolic, and likely to strengthen Assad, as well as his supporters. At the same time driving oil prices higher.

"The bombings will continue until you go back to watching American Idol!"

Too much scrutinizing of the Fed, NSA, etc. A war is needed to distract attention and deflect blame. We laugh when North Korea plays these transparent games. We should cry to see our own country act like tinpot tyrants.

Even without that "evidence" that the rebels are using chemicals, I do not see any justification for us to get involved other than containing the conflict within the borders of Syria alone. They are going to kill each other whether we are there or not (see Iraq and Afghanistan.) One side or the other will hate us in the end, might as well let them hate us for inaction as for expensive action.

Oh hell no we can't walk away from this. It's the economy! It's in the crapper. Nothing fixes the economy better than a good shootin' war. QE has failed. This is our only hope Obiwan Obama Bernanke.

UK is out, Saturday the UN report is to come out. So, We attack on Friday. It would be best if we hit 'em right after Friday call to prayer.

Is Kerry’s speech today a warm up for Obama?
We shall soon see, my money is on bombs going off minutes before, or after the 0ne opens his trap.

Not until after the holiday weekend. He would need it to dominate the news cycle. Expect bad economic numbers Thursday or Friday if he orders the bombing this week. The bombing will be used to mask the economic numbers.

I don’t disagree with you, what I said when he does come out in public and speak again it will be to tell us he is dropping bombs. Either minutes before he opens his mouth or in the minutes that follow. Most likely while they are being detonated.

We did not get involved when Iran & Iraq were using chemical weapons aganist each other or when they were killing off the Kirds.
