Hunters trade shots over deer breeding, killing methods | Fox News

I for one believe in the traditional hunting methods and think these "pay to hunt" deer farms are ruining the sport. Going out in the great outdoors to track, find and harvest a nice buck or bull will always be my way. I will never utilize one of these farms and think those that do will never truly grasp the greatness of mother nature and the challenge of the hunt.
    YMMV

Maybe it's past time for the records for fair chase and enclosed areas be separated?

Maybe they should do like Baseball records are tracked, any non-traditional hunting record would have an asterisk beside it.

But on the other side of the coin, any game taken in an enclosed area should not qualify for the record book.

It is my intent in life, to try every sort of hunting before I die, except two. I will not hunt in a cage, no matter the size, nor by computer control/automated rifle.
Neither has any appeal for me.

As seen before in competition between men, it often comes down to bragging rights associated with something that is measured in units of length.

It's not hunting, it's harvesting - it's like like having a deer garden. They do the same for buffalo.:(

I once saw some fishermen that had a fish finder. I was a computer thing that scanned the water and showed where the fish were. I told them that wasn't ever sporting. Fishing to me is communing with nature, waiting for that nibble...

Yep, Fish finders tell you where the Bottom is, so you do NOT run out of water, and get beached.... Just ask any self-respecting Pirate.

I, for one agree with you. However I do so because I live in the mountains and hunt the state and fed lands around my home. Have seen some very nice and respectable bucks taken by others as well as those running out of my view. Hmm. Been working on that..... Need meat!!!

Then they should be called "Bottom finders". Oh... Wait... I guess that name might imply trolling of a different nature. ~giggle~

ditch witch I do stupid crap, so you don't have to

Our fish finder shows us where all the carp and drum are. Apparently bass are completely invisible to it.

Of course, if you have the "fishing luck" as I don't have, you take all the advantages you can.. Explaination; I will fish all day and catch one fish. Only One! It will be a respectable one, but still one.... Am much better at hunting...
