Hmm. Beard a la Duck Dynasty, a hat and sunglasses might make that a little tricky.

This is just the pliot program to perfect the technology in a large crowd. Eventually they will broaden the use of this technology to every street corner camera......

Only if you put it on the biometric fingerprint reader....;)

Actually, it will require a complete reinstall action of all cameras, to these new Stereo Cameras, in order to be fully functional... One very big expense...

No expense is too big when it can be passed off the the taxpayer...

As a TaxPayer I will CERTAINLY object to ANY such expenditure, and will NOT vote for ANYONE, who espouses such an expenditure of Tax Moneys for such a purpose.

I hear ya, BT. And I'm with you. :) Unfortunately, we seem to be outnumbered in the last few elections (I'll leave the voter fraud aspect alone for the moment) and the ya-hoos in office seem to think along the lines of my post...

I fully expect BOSS to tap Google-Glass, as a live feed. Think about what that would do to personal privacy. With, or without permission from it's manufacturer or the man on the street. ( resistance is futile, you too, will be assimilated.)
Imagine your operating system, being told to turn over all your messages, and you keystrokes (as observed and recorded) but never to alert you. Copy and forward your emails, and copies of all voice texts. Now take it a step further.....order Glass to open mike and transmit all sounds within range, with GPS fix.
We are only talking about hacking an existing system. Glass, already downloads direct, so a Trojan Horse could give remote access. (Assuming BOSS isn't given free access from Google.)
Glass, would be the eye, ears, and covert arms and legs of BOSS.

Since this version of Google-Glass only has one Optic Lens and CCD, it doesn't fit the REQUIREMENTS, as published for BOSS, for an Input Device. I refer to the OP's Post:

Glass has GPS tagging for directional instructions. BOSS would simply need to find two cameras in the same area, and facing the same direction. In a street scene, or mall or football game, this would be the simplest requirement to meet. I see nothing in the published information on each device, that preclude them working together.

They would have to rewrite the complete Stereo/3D modeling algorithm, to include, the different Lighting, Camera Angles, direction of Camera, difference in the individual Google-Glass Camera Settings, and time difference between both pictures, as well as some way to MAKE SURE, that the pictures were really of the same person. That is a MASSIVE Rewrite, for a System that isn't even in the Alpha Stage, at this point. The reason they use the Stereo Camera, is exactly why these things are NOT Needed in the Modeling Algorithm, NOW. They have control over all these things with their Camera, where if they use any other camera system, they do NOT have control over these parameters, and that will cause the system to Fail, and Fail miserably. This isn't the Movies, or TV.... this is the real World......

You are assuming they stick to the original purpose of BOSS, instead of branching out into public spying without need of a warrant. I believe BOSS will be corrupted into a major tool to spy on people in general, just like the stock-piling of emails, and metadata from every phonecall we make, and every email we send, and every site we visit on line. WE ARE BEING PROFILED by our own government.
I am assuming, that BOSS will expand, and any and all available inputs will be used to build the database.

Glass, will be misused, and corrupted, of that much, I am sure. It is too intrusive in and of itself, coupled with recognition software, video and audio scanning, copy and transmit capability, and internet, it will be used for evil purposes. AS is, It will be used for theft of intellectual property, voyeurism, and blackmail, (And that is just in record mode) .Live, by internet, or cell coverage, there's detection of protected witnesses, Witness tampering, and identification for a hit.(and that much could be done by the general public.)
It is a first person shooter's perspective for the next school shooting. (You think using a shooter's NAME in the media is likely to inspire copycats? Try a viral video of a live shooting from the shooter's viewpoint.)

I believe, Glass is a dangerous tool by whoever uses it, and I believe it will be assimilated into BOSS as an input for collection, coping, and using.

And you are assuming FACTS, not in evidence.... You are assuming technology that doesn't exist... Will be used for nefarious purposes, that as yet, are undefined.... Your speculation needs to be in the TinFoil Hat Lounge...

I wish this belonged in the Tin Foil Hat Lounge, but this is one of the few time I have to disagree with you. Movies are stolen right in the theater now with concealed cameras, some are even bold enough to bring tripods, and full sized video cameras. I have seen things as large as beer kegs snuck into theaters, i have worked in. i have cleaned up the messes, and returned the kegs for deposit. It happens. There are thousands of movies on the internet right now that were stolen in similar fashion. That capability is built into Glass right now, and it can stream it live. (I have watched the live feed from Glass as it was introduced, by way of a stunt jump from a plane, to a live arrival on stage, with the video stream unbroken). This is much more than what is needed to steal video and audio or copy someone else's work.

Nefarious Purposes? I see it daily. Nearly anything is hackable, 8 Things You Thought Were Totally Unhackable But A... - Input Output
I remember an article about something that was released with a bunch of fanfare, as being unhackable, impervious to cracking, and they even offered a prize to anyone who could hack it.........they had to pay out......after only about 30 minutes from the release date. I know Glass will be hacked, I hear rumors, that it already has been. I know my fellow man well enough to know, it will just require a challenge, a prize, or boredom.
Stereoscopes and stereoscopic photography have been around a very long time. This is nothing new, They have simply removed the man from the viewing, and replaced him with a machine. History of Stereo Photography
With a streaming feed, a timid or known witness could pick out a victim/ perp from a crowd, and direct a cop/ hit to them through a press of people, though they had never met. The target's image, would be known, and his ID verified my GLASS, or the witness on the end of the data stream.
As for B.O.S.S., If it works, it will be expanded, BOSS Units will be put up everywhere they can, if for no other reason than to get more funding, and new features sell product. Nothing with a Name like "BOSS" is intended to stay small and unassuming, it will added to, and the logical tool for that is Glass. Once BOSS locks onto an image as WANTED, ALL nearby Glass, could then scan for that image for matching, Any possible matches, would be downloaded to BOSS, to compare against it's copy. Then the facial recognition software, compare features and ratios, much like it is done on lab computers now. (eye spacing, head shape, nose, ears, and how they are spaced.) I believe this much is viable right now, with a few small tweaks.

As for remote access of someone else's Glass? That will come in time, and I will bet,....it will be related to the Porn industry when it does. (hidden camera stuff).
