Ever wonder how many of the personalities on a website are fake identities of the .gov trolling for preppers or other non-conformists, possibly even trying to entrap them in a conspiracy charge?

It's nearly certain that there's one or two that stop off here, but no way to know. We've talked about it for years off and on. Still no clue.

I have thought about this issue many a time and continually remind myself to mind my P's and Q's.... and exercise my first amendment right- to talk .... other than that... well you know- shut my yap. :censored: I am here to socialize, learn and work towards being better prepared each day.

We have a few FEDs, and ExFEDs that frequent this site. I am one of the Ex's.... But since this place is basically an INFORMATION Exchange Site, I doubt very much that it is under Active Survalence.. and since it is archived by Google, The REAL FED Spooks can mine everything from there if they so chose... .......

No such thing as privacy and certainly not on an open forum. Have long since stopped using "red flag" words--see no need to get on more lists. Am under no illusion that most sites as these are monitored closely and regularly. Bet our gatherings are under surveillance or "moled"--lol. We do not talk about "anti social" issues and stick solely to primitive skills subjects.
PS, on a personal note--thanks BT for the personal com.

I wonder about those occasional postings by those looking to form a militia.

LOL, yep me also. Years ago a few buds and I would meet once a month to do a bit of "snoopin and poopin" out in the bush. Lots of fun but after the Murray building we stopped meeting. We were rappelling off a river bridge nearby when a deputy pulled up and told us we could not do it. Just called the sheriff(a bud) and got the OK to continue. Smokey just hung around talking with us till we finished. Miss those days of practice but getting too old to be "runnin and gunnin" anymore. Content to just keep "ole betsy" sighted in at various ranges--lol.

The FBI is using cyber centers to monitor web traffic utilizing keyword type software (very substantial set ups). Focusing on white collar, financial and terrorism type communications. When a hit takes place on the web crawlers, then a human will dig deeper and determine if further investigation needs to take place. They have these scattered all over the US in most major metro areas.

The biggest threat to privacy isn’t the data mining and storage itself. No the biggest threat is the cross reference indexing that goes on. For example, you may not be on a list or have a file of your own, but it takes literally nanoseconds for one to be created. With it they have everything connected to you.

For example they know what time you get up in the morning from your smart meter, they know what you eat for breakfast from your supermarket card. They know what form of transportation you use to go to work from your dmv and insurance records. They know where you work from your W2. They know if you go out to lunch from your credit card, and if you have one or two martini’s along the way. They know if your wife is on the rag and if you have a drinking problem. They know everything about you. This is all known, what is frightening is that anybody with access to their data base can find out everything about you in a second, even if no file exists.

Now before you say well I bought my gun with cash and it’s not registered, so they don’t know I got it. Think again because of cross referencing they can find out if you bought a holster or ammo or went to the range. They can find out if you googled for information on the weapon or its accessories. They will know if you ever mentioned in an open blog, anything about it. If you ever went shooting with or showed your weapon to someone and they post it on the internet and they use your name the government has it.

Cross referencing is what gives what they know structure and that structure gives them the ability to deduce things they don’t know.

    Just sayin, CT.

I don't have a Smart Meter... or ANY meter at all.... I generate ALL my own power.... I don't use the SuperMarket Card, I have had for 25 years, except when I am Road Tripping in the FlatLands, (That begins on Thursday) as there isn't a SuperMarket of ANY Kind within 60 miles of where I live. I do NOT own a Registered Vehicle in ANY State, as I only use Rentals, with my CC connected Insurance when I do have a Rental. DMV in Alaska is a Once every 5 year deal. What ever they get from my CC Accounts, only tells them where I stopped to pickup Cash, and I never pay for ANYTHING, except with CASH. I make ALL my own Ammunition, and have for 5 decades, as I used to be an Ammunition OEM, with an FFL for that purpose. There will be some things that they will find, and there always is the extensive Federal Security File from when I was a FED, but of my day to day life, there just isn't much to find. Even if they track back my IP Address, it says I am either in McLean VA, or Atlanta, GA, where the ISP HQ, or UpLink Earth Station is located. I don't own a Phone Number, as my Employer pays for all those issues. What ever they find, they are welcome to it, simply because if they REALLY want me, it will cost them a whole Pile of your TAX Money to come all the way out here to get me, and I can see, and hear, them coming for 30 miles away. (By boat or Aircraft, as there are NO ROADS out here, for them to drive on) ..... YMMV...

If they REALLY want Me, or Momma, They will be spending a whole pile of FRN's just to even get close. There is only ONE US Marshal in my whole State, and he and I are Bud's, so that means they have to fly them in from the FlatLands. Big Expense... Then they either bring their OWN AirCraft, or they have to Charter one of the local Bush Pilots, Another Big Expense...Then there is No Way they can sneak up on me as I see ALL the Aircraft Transponder replies for 120 miles around me, and that gives me an Hour, or more notice, and that assumes that they leave one person in town to keep the Bush Pilot, from tipping me off, as soon as the plane departs. plenty of time to setup, and be waiting, or just melt into the woods for a few hours. No Motels out in the bush, for those Yahoos to stay in, so if they can't find Us before Twilight, the Bush Pilot will just LEAVE them here, and fly back to base. Gets pretty cold out here at night, for a bunch of FlatLanders....
