Police Entering Homes to Make Sure Guns Are Stored Safely? If This Politician Has His Way… | TheBlaze.com
The last paragraph is so very true....once the gun owners are gone...what are you going to do other than submit. If the people fail to stop the encroachment of our rights at every turn, they soon enough will not have any rights.

SCOTUS held in Heller the following, "On June 26, 2008, the Supreme Court affirmed the Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in Heller v. District of Columbia.[3][4] The Supreme Court struck down provisions of theFirearms Control Regulations Act of 1975 as unconstitutional, determined that handguns are "arms" for the purposes of the Second Amendment, found that the District of Columbia's regulations act was an unconstitutional banning, and struck down the portion of the regulations act that requires all firearms including rifles and shotguns be kept "unloaded and disassembled or bound by a trigger lock."

Apparently these State Yahoos can't read or UNDERSTAND the above very CLEAR english. The State Statute is in DIRECT Violation of Heller, and is so because of SCOTUS Holding, that Heller applies to ALL US Territory, via McDonald. Someone needs to sue the PANTS Off the State, in Federal District Court, and get this Unconstitutional Statute thrown OUT, PERIOD. Then maybe this Yahoo State Selectman would get a CLUE as to what the Law of the LAND is.... He must either be Blond, or Stupid..... or maybe BOTH......

That activity is (so far) limited to the town of Swampscott. A nice old town, somewhat run down and no where near as elegant as it once was. That particular Selectman is well known for, ah, let's say, attracting attention.

So just how much money does the town of Swampscott have????? I predict that if they violate some ones civil rights, they will wish they never heard of the Second Amendment, Heller, and McDonald. Any Mass. Attorneys listening?

Obviously you all know the 4th Amendment:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

There's no misunderstanding by politicians concerning the BOR unless their IQ is near room temp. It's an intentional infringement by those who don't feel themselves subject to our founding principles.

little off topic but still worth the mention .... the Canadian Mounties and other PDs used a similar law this summer to seize weapons from private homes .... it was in that flooding region ..... homeowners secured their weapons in the home's upper stories before evacing .... the PD officers kicked in doors and took everything they could lay hands on ..... haven't heard the latest but it wasn't looking good for the gunowners

Unfortunately, the "Patriot Act" has already hammered the final nails into the coffin of the 4th Amendment.

It's hard to imagine a 4th Amendment violation more egregious than those already being committed almost daily by federal, state and local law enforcement using justification provided by the PA..

Bad to see even a small town start such. Hope it gets sued and those who introduced/passed it sued personally so our tax dollars will not be used for their ignorant and uncaring acts. This thing is going to start coming to a head soon--some folks take our constitution seriously enough to resist those encroaching its liberties.

Wishful thinking, but look at how our rights have been screwed since the Patriot Act when into effect and the citizens do nothing about it. Wait until the 2014 elections don't change anything and Hitlery gets elected Pres in 2016. There is only one way to change the disaster we are in and we all know what that is.

The Constituition was suspended a long time ago in that craphole. Look at the house to house searches that happened after the Marathon bombing, There's plenty of video's on youtube showing famlies forced out of their homes at gunpoint and made to stand with their hands up or lie face down in the streets.

    "Boston Strong" ; yeah right.NO!!

Society, like most things in life run in cycles. 100 years from now they may be conservative again---doubt our nation will be the same that long. Too many factions growing increasingly ill toward each other.

I doubt it will be the same either. The difference between now and any other period in our history is the fact there are more receiving entitlements and subsidies from our government than there are contributing in the work force (paying taxes). And with that strong entitlement group is a voting block that will continue to place people in office that want more power over the people. And they will achieve their goals if they are able to un-arm our society. When does that balance tip to the point people will say stop and fight back..... not sure, but I hope it is not to late when the sheep realize they are in the slave pen and are subjects to the governments whim, not citizen's with rights....

Have they vacated those rights to a government promising security (their fair share).... if so, then they are not free men anymore!!
