He did not run the first time. Just a figure head to give the illusion of an election. Disgusted with the process.
I know I should respect my elders and I should also respect him for his service and what he has accomplished BUT.... his recent behavior is really starting to diminish him in my mind. He just comes off as wanting to be everyone's good buddy John. His flip flop this week on the healthcare issue just shows that he has no true opinion of his own, he just seems to run with the current.
He needs to retire.... his time has been served and he is just a liability to our nation at this point... He is evidence to one major problem with our government. Term limits need to be imposed.... At some point in office one always seems to get corrupt with the power. Unfortunately they will never set term limits, as there are those like McCain that would not want to limit their power over others.
I agree with the idea of term limits. I also agree that McCain has outlived his usefulness. Thing is, I don't think he's malicious or necessarily corrupt, I think he's simply forgotten how to think. Might be early onset of senility, but whatever, he needs to retire.
I have said this before, "Time to give him back to the Vietnamese". I agree with ghrit about the senility. He has lost any kind of worth to this country and is not detrimental to it, so if he will not retire he should be shipped out.
Washington corrupts even the best. Was at a Republican rally and patted Sue Myrick on the shoulder congratulating her on her voting history. Very next month she sided with the rest of the demon craps and nobammy. Glad she is retiring--would not do to hear what I would tell her the next time. Now we have the very liberal Kay Hagin running again. She had an open house last week that was poorly attended--hope she is getting the message.
The only message, politicos understand is Money, & Power.... Tell a Politico, you will spend your "Last Dime" to elect "ANYONE ELSE" to their Seat, and Exactly "WHY" and they will start listening..... If two constituents say the same thing, they get nervous. If three, they begin to Panic.... Those Yahoos in Colorado, thought they could buck their constituents, and see what happened to them. They learned the hard way. All the PAC Money can't win against a bunch of Pissed Off Voters.... .....
Yes, that goes back to the early 1980s. McCain has been a corrupt abuser of the public trust for at least 30 years. Old Remus at the WoodpileReport states he is done voting in national politics since it is so corrupt that participation lends it legitimacy. I am beginning to think he is right. The only sane course if action is to withhold my vote since it eon't count anyway and if enough people withheld votes the system would loose credibility. McCain inspires my cynicism.
