Without the USP certification, I have concerns about purity. I have never seen USP listed on the products from Thomas Labs. Two last points, the source I listed above also will 1) ship free of charge and they list the 2) expiration dates on their website.

All the side effects in post 3 are accurate. The explanation of teretogenicity with teeth staining is incorrect, but both are facts, just not related facts. The cost jump is interesting. Not sure why. I know it's popular the prepper community and it is a first line drug for chlamydia, that may have something to do with it. Current Drug Shortages S - Z The FDA is still reporting a shortage of tetracycline as of a couple weeks ago. Perhaps since doxy is in the same drug class, it's demand is going up. I suspect also since doxy treats almost anything and is cheaper than most abx, it may be the go to drug for those wanting treatment on the cheap, further driving up demand.
When a drug costs 30 times what it once did - Page 2 - Los Angeles Times Looks like there are only 2 manufacturers of generic doxy, and one isn't producing right now. Sounds like a cornered market.

Oh, I fully comprehend what you are saying, and I don't mean to be rude. From my perspective, any non-profit organization working with the Federal Government isn't at the top of my list when it comes to priorities. The USP does function, and I do not want to welcome a world full of snake oil peddlers, and at the same time there are valid means to procure medicines outside the stamp of approval of USP. This is why I attribute the USP requirement as a "feel good" label. To each his own, I guess. I know lots of folks who have used Calvetsupply.com and I will continue to do so.
