Now see, that would be thread-jacking, (not very polite) and I seem to be an expert at it (by accident, of course).
If you would like to pursue this, i would suggest a new thread. If you are open to speculation, then you might want to open that thread in the" Tin-Foil Lounge". Things can go off the deep end there, and no one cares. If you only want hard science types of answers, then you might want to launch it in general discussions. And enjoy the forum.

I have not tried this particular model. I have 9 or so generic head lamps purchased from costco.... they were pretty cheap and work very well from my use of them. I have a couple in each BOB for whatever need may arise. I will see if I can pull up the manufacture...and do a follow up post. They do seem a little pricey....

I don't own any Foursevens that I can remember, lol. From everyone I have known to use them, they liked these flashlights very much. I don't know anything about the ATOM, though. Looks cool.

I have become a fan of Fenix lights. Well made but employ a circuit inside to boost the voltage from a dying battery to still keep full brightness as long as possible. Really squeezes the most out of a battery. The AA battery LD series have 4 brightness levels and use the lowest that will work. When the battery is unable to illuminate at the third highest brightness, it is too dead to run a wireless computer mouse or virtually anything else. I like their AA battery versions which are not as bright as lights using the much more expensive and less ubiquitous CR123 batteries but aren't far behind. The LD series have the latest Cree LEDs and are brighter and run a little longer than the E series and most competitors. I have several LD 12 and LD22 as my choices for hand/pocket torch with zero problems. And I like the little HL21 for a small headlamp.
