Yard Dart they are pulling in the "must haves" of Gov welfare. The price you pay if you think there is a free lunch out there.

We have chipped dairy catttle for nigh onto 35 years. I used RF Chips for production tracking in the 90s.

Exactly right...but the interesting part of the initial threads story was that the city was requiring the city employees to also get implanted...or loose their job. A trial run on the messaging of the chipping and governmental coercion tactics in this one town, next town may be yours. Just the beginning of a national implementation.......

Hm... that's something if I ever saw it, persuasion at it's worst. Not a big fan of this system. Oh well, I certainly can't do anything about since I'm in Québec. Guess they'll have to make their choices on their own, and be smart about it.

Come on, man. Don't spoil their fun....

Your passport (the new ones) ARE chipped tho, so it is easy to make up these kinds of stories.
I suppose folks have made up their minds that sooner or later, this won't be a satire story.

Ireland requires all dogs/cats be microchipped and that doesn't sit well with me. I don't want them chipped anymore than I would want to be chipped. If an owner *wants* to chip their pets, fine. It should be a choice. There is no reason for that except as a money-maker. At least Northern Ireland will allow exemptions if a vet signs off that it's detrimental to the pet's health.

Gopherman, you will find fewer more awake and aware than myself. You just CANNOT put any stock in a satire news site than you would a blank in your gun for defending your home.

Well, I never said it was myth, #1. #2, this is a story involving a couple from Vancouver British Columbia, from 2006. #3, it is a MSM story, which have been proven to be nothing worth reading.
Do you have any actual news story from a reputable source, from a more recent date involving RFID implatation, as "required by law"?

I totally agree with you, however, this language is in the bill!! I read it for myself and just like "IF YOU LIKE YOUR PLAN........" THEY say it's not going to happen, so you can probably understand why, when I saw it in the bill with my own 2 eye's and have seen that in South Korea is building an entire city, based on the technology, you have to excuse me if I believe that this is not only coming quickly, It's inevitable!
I believe that the reason they never installed any kind of security measures in the ACA, because they want there to be such a breach of personal information, that this would be the only answer and people would feel they had no other choice than to let it happen!

Yeah, no it is not. I have read the bill. According to the WORST CT sites, the law was active as of March of this year. Got your chip yet? I thought not.

This myth, which is just that, comes from HR3200. It was an unsuccessful bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on July 14, 2009. Page 1001 of HR3200 included an amendment to section 519 of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act which allowed for data collection to “facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data” from class II devices (An RFID chip is classified as a class II device by the FDA). None of the wording cited in any consipracy theory appears in the the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act HR 3590 (Obamacare), although section 519 of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act does still include an unamended passage on rules for class II devices and data collection from them.

The wording is specific - it regulates medical devices by classification. In no way shape or form does it dictate you must have an RFID implanted. Sorry. Try again.

Is this the TIN FOIL HAT LOUNGE?
It Does not command it yet but It's early and left up to the discretion of the Secretary of health and Human services. As we have seen already there a lot in the bill we were supposed to pass before we Knew what was in it! Don't be surprised!

As someone who has had hundreds of dogs through this house in the last couple of years, I can tell you the chips in pets are very short range, and harmless. They allow a pet to be identified, their shot records accessed, and where their owners live. So a loose pet can be returned, and a person bitten, can know if they are in danger of rabbies, and other dangers.
When pets travel to other countries, it is VERY important for their health to be known, because they can transport far worse than fleas abroad. Parvo, for one, is a canine mass murderer, do not ever allow it to spread. it is like Doggy plague. Invasive species are already a problem here. Asian carp, Asian ladybugs are destructive, emerald ash bores , and many others as well. Heart worm is a parasite that can travel with your pet and be spread to others. And then we get into the nasty and lethals. Chipping pets is a good thing.
Chipping people is not. All of the advantages of chipping, rely on the pet having no ability to speak. And having no access to medical info. This is not true of people, and is a violation of privacy to take from someone without their permission.
