I came home and found the boy messing with a moose... Shook my finger at him and he flipped over on to his back... The moose decided it was it's chance to get even and dropped it's head doing that " I'll stomp your guts out" dance they do... Yelled at the fool dog to get out of there and he jumps up taking a couple steps at the moose before he slunk off to the house..
Halo reminds me of a border collie/beagle cross we had, She killed a chick, then lay half out of her house with her chin on it, pretending to sleep. Then opened one eye to see if we had noticed.
My puppy does the guilt look then rolls right onto his back. Does he really think I will scratch his belly after he chewed the chair?
He's not looking for a belly rub, it's a sign of submission. He knows he's in trouble and letting you know that.
Really? I didn't now that. If that video above said that, well my speakers broke so I watched w/o sound. So that roll over thing is a submission thing. I always thought he was just trying to be extra cute so I would forgive him.
In all seriousness, yes. I have no idea if the video said it or not but while the "belly rub" pose can be just that, if you look at the rest of the posture of the dog (actually a lot of animals), it's also a submission thing. Doesn't say so on the vid, but it is universal with canines. If they don't roll, they think they are higher on the ladder than you are. Those are the ones to watch.
that explains alot when my rott does something wrong and i find she just puts her head down when the wife finds its its the full belly rub neck out position i guess the bitch {play on words} thinks she is above me !!!! Thats her but when i get home !!!LOL
Of course I do, I am a marshmallow. I may give him a nice belly rub but at the same time I tell him the error of his ways.
Ah, he's a typical malethen. Mysisters in lawtaught mehow to "quiet Pout". Works like a charm until the ladyfiguresoutwhat I'm doin. LOL
