    Tax his land,
    Tax his bed,
    Tax the table,
    At which he's fed.

    Tax his tractor,
    Tax his mule,
    Teach him taxes
    Are the rule.

    Tax his work,
    Tax his pay,
    He works for
    peanuts anyway!

    Tax his cow,
    Tax his goat,
    Tax his pants,
    Tax his coat.

    Tax his ties,
    Tax his shirt,
    Tax his work,
    Tax his dirt.

    Tax his tobacco,
    Tax his drink,
    Tax him if he
    Tries to think.

    Tax his cigars,
    Tax his beers,
    If he cries
    Tax his tears.

    Tax his car,
    Tax his gas,
    Find other ways
    To tax his ass.

    Tax all he has
    Then let him know
    That you won't be done
    Till he has no dough.

    When he screams and hollers;
    Then tax him some more,
    Tax him till
    He's good and sore.

    Then tax his coffin,
    Tax his grave,
    Tax the sod in
    Which he's laid...

    Put these words
    Upon his tomb,
    'Taxes drove me
    to my doom...'

    When he's gone,
    Do not relax,
    Its time to apply
    The inheritance tax.

    STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

We've got added costs to our power bill to pay for dam removal and energy assistance(which Oregon doesn't allow them to do, organizations have to get money from other sources to help people with their winter heating bills). There is no way to avoid paying taxes these days that I know of.

I was talking to a local contractor and he was saying that it was his dream to one day move to the US. He asked me why I moved out of the country. I told him that the taxes were out of control and all I was doing was working for the government. He said that it must be nice not having to worry about that now. I almost choked on my coffee. I told him I still paid a huge amount of taxes, just not quite as much as if I was living there. He was dumbfounded. He said "You still have to pay taxes even though you don't live in the country?" I told him it didn't matter if I never set foot in the country again, never earned a single penny from an American company, that I would still have to pay taxes for the rest of my life. Then I really blew his mind when I told him that if I didn't pay what they say I owe them that they would take my house, my car, all the money I had in the bank if I lived there. He couldn't believe it. I think he is reconsidering his dream of immigrating to the land of the deceived and home of the slave.

I worked for 5 years as a consultant. It was a big step up in my career. But it was the first time I had ever worked as an independent contractor, I had always worked for companies that took out taxes every paycheck. I tried to do it right, I followed the advice of a tax attorney and incorporated as a business. I had all my checks made out to the business and deposited in a business account. I would disperse the money from there to myself, I paid all the SS taxes on it.

About a year ago the IRS in their wisdom decided that I had not crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's and they disallowed my corporate status for those years. They refiled my returns for those years at a personal tax rate, single status with no dependents and no deductions. They sent me an enormous bill. I told my accountant to just refile those years as personal rather than try to fight with them about the corporate status. Just get me a realistic bill so I could start getting it paid. It took over a year to get all of my records together and to him so he could refile. Last month I filed those 5 years of tax returns and paid in full the first two years. Last month I wrote a check for nearly $50,000. The biggest check I ever wrote in my life. I am waiting for my tax lawyer to get us a hearing for a payment plan on the remaining balance.

This morning I get a call from my youngest adult daughter, they came in and cleaned out her and my oldest daughters bank accounts. Every last penny! Because I owe them money. And I had deposited money into their accounts over the years whenever they needed a little help, to pay bills or buy a car etc. That makes their money fair game now.

So is there anyone who can look me in the eye with a straight face and say that we live in a free country! I have no problem paying taxes, that is constitutional, I pay my local, county and state taxes willingly. It goes to support our schools, pave and maintain our roads, provide needed services to the community. But it is a pittance to what the bloated federal government takes. And for what? More wars, more welfare, more entitlement programs? And they are broke!! They can't even manage the vast amount of money they steal from us every year. And now they are passing laws that allow them to steal it from our relatives!!!

I didn't set foot in the US for 2 years but I paid more in taxes those two years than most people make. For what? So they can come in and take food from my grandchildren's mouths!!

This is the results of a desperate regime, one that is going down the toilet and will take everyone of us with it. So what? Regime change? You think our votes will make one iota of a difference? I have some prime ocean front property in Arizona I will sell cheap. It's a joke. No matter who you vote for the government always gets elected. All politicians are liars and crooks or they wouldn't be where they are. It's the system that needs changed not the people in it. They don't give a shit about the constitution or "we the people". Bush said the constitution was just a Gdamned piece of paper. When they were going to bail out the banks so many people protested it that the calls crashed the whitehouse and congressional switchboards. But did they listen, or care? Hell no, they know better than we do and they went ahead and did it anyway.

I don't know what it's going to take to wake people up. We read daily of atrocious actions by this out of control government, we shake our heads, post a rant or two online then turn on the game or the soap opera and forget about it.

So do we rise up and violently overthrow this tyranny? I dread the loss of life that would result in but I think it would have to come that to ever change anything, but I have serious doubts it ever will. So what then? Secession, that is the only way to preserve any semblance of freedom in this land. I would love to see Texas, Montana, Wyoming etc. say "ENOUGH!!" we won't partake in this travesty and mockery of a government any longer. But will that ever happen? I doubt that too.

So we post rants on the internet and go about our lives with the boot print of tyranny on our face, the chains of oppression on our shoulders, the welts of the taskmasters whip on our backs.

    But, hey, we're free right?

You are well to be angry.... this .gov does not care one damn cent about you and yours. They only care that you continue to pay into the system that they have created that maintains their power over the nation......

Where is the due process, the notifications? I have a sneaking suspicion that there are MANY more folks in the same or similar boat, and if somehow this money grab were to get better exposure --

There's also this recent squabble about not for profits, and what they can and cannot do with contributed funds. The IRS is making an over zealous effort to drag out money from those that the IRS thinks has been delinquent. Maybe it's another order from on high to find revenue wherever they can to avoid an executive order raising taxes.

Disgusting situation, Mm. There is no statute of limitations when it comes to fraud, so that has to be what they are using against you. We know that is not you.

No, no fraud or evasion. The statute of limitations is 6 years on unpaid taxes, but, that starts from the time you file, not the year they are due. Since they disallowed the years I filed the statute resets from last month when I refiled.

I hear you MM but Montana isn't going to be putting the brakes to the gravy train anytime soon. They are forcing my boss to steal enough from my paycheck that I barely have $85 a week to live on (that's after rent/utilities so at least I'm not sleeping in the snow). Busting ones backside for that kind of pay seems hardly worth it. I've been of the mind to shrug for a great many years now. But there truly is nowhere to go within the borders claimed by Uncle Thief & Co. You're living proof of that. If they want what you've got, they'll take it, cage you, kill you. Or any combination of the 3 and not particularly in that order.

Six year SoL? That didn't work for me! They took money from a refund I was supposed to receive because of a filing 10 years prior.

My life lesson on that one? Do not plan on Statutes of Limitations, they only apply to me, they do not apply to the IRS.

Will not even bother you with my sob/horror story. Told the kids that if I had my life to live over I would not own the farm/house/properties/etc. but live in a nice motor home with a straw owner. Would travel doing what I could. Sounds nice but married with four children makes it hard to do now. If you accumulate any property the taxes are rough. Have not had a bank account for 18 years. The inFernal revenue took my license money one year and nearly bankrupted me. Swore it would never happen again-----I hope.

Wow, that is bad. I think we are getting close to Atlas Shrugged. You are right that trying to work in this environment us a tax trap. At some point a good many of us are to go Galt and just quit producing.

We need to go on taxpayer strike. Get enough people that just quit earning income until the govt drastically cuts taxes and spending. Six month strike do it?

Last year was the 6th year in a row that a new all time record was set for people renouncing their U.S. citizenship mainly due to this kind of crap. But guess what? They are trying to pass a new law now that says it doesn't matter, you can renounce citizenship, turn in your passport and never set foot in the US again and they will still tax you for the rest of your life. Collecting may be another story but they will tax you nonetheless. And with the rest of the worlds crooked governments broke also they are all cooperating in asset confiscation. There are only a handful of countries in the world where your money and property is safe from the long reach of the US taxmaster. A few Middle Eastern countries, a few Eastern European countries, and North Cyprus.
As long as you live in the US, own property, and or have a bank account or any kind of financial assets then they have you by the short hairs. They can steal anything you have. I moved out of the US 4 years ago and frankly I don't care if I ever move back again. If it wasn't for my family there I wouldn't even come back for visits. If I ever do move back I will not own anything. I will rent my house, lease my vehicles and deal in only cash.

When the rate was $380/Coin, I dang near bought one as an investment. My thinking was that if the Rate went to $1000/Coin, I would triple my investment. A very good Move, IF all the rah, rah that is splashing around the BitCoin World, came true. Then the IRS decided that Coin is "Property" and NOT Currency. That changes the whole Landscape, completely.... So now I watch, ONLY....
