I know many of us here have adopted the Primal journey and have had great results. I for one, am all in with the plan and have lost 23 lbs since starting....many others have been much more successful, I tip my hat to you. Many of us have been successful at converting the entire family eating habits and have in-house support while others of us have only our Monkey brothers and sisters to rely on for moral support and information.

I also know there are many out there that have started the journey or adopted some of the tenants of Primal while not going all in.... which is a great way to ease into the lifestyle change, which is exactly what it is. Eating better, getting more rest, exercising to some degree beyond what you used to do- all good things regardless of the total commitment or not.

Curious to know how many are committed to the Primal lifestyle or engaged in it to whatever degree you are comfortable with. Thought I would post this little survey so we could see what the SM community participation looks like.

I was going to make a survey question that asked if you were doing none of the above Kell, but accidently hit the return/enter button and the thread posted.... :(
I wish the originator of a thread, could go in and alter a survey to add a line or correct wording, but that appears to not be the case.

I think some fresh baked bread, slathered with butter and garlic, and a couple of baked potatos with everything would go well with dinner to night.....;) lol.

Fixed it for ya. I think you can edit it if needed in future. It may not show for you, but there's an "edit" in the lower right corner of the poll title box. (Or wake up a mod.)

I'd call myself somewhat committed. I still like a beer or adult beverage on occasion, at least one soda a day, some sweets (chocolate is the devil!), and an occasional sandwich. Today, it was a home canned Albacore tuna sandwich. Just can't get around a sandwich on a lettuce leaf! I try to push myself and the wife a little more primal every week.

I'm not sure if 98% committed qualifies as somewhat or 100%. I should probably ditch the cheddar entirely... depending on who I'm reading it's either ok or not. But cheese is sort of a make or break for me, and I've gone from an amount I dare not admit down to the occasion ounce. I'm not 100% on the exercise either, though I'm trying and getting better.

Well, and I'm not lying in the sun. Clearly my peeps evolved in caves or shade or something, because all I do is burn and freckle.

I think 98% is darn well committed.... as that is about where I am, if not more towards the 95% with my "vices"...:D

I did not put 100% in the committed line on purpose....a little cheat here and there, is still committed in my book....

No sorry... good for you to maintain after all those years.... that is what we all would hope for but some of us seem to not be able to achieve due to habits or lifestyle. I have not been in the 150 to 160 range since I was about 17....

We are semi primal at our house simply for the brain health. No change in my weight (6'-1" 180 @ mid 50s) and wife has to watch to not loose any (50ish, 5-10, 120). Mostly we have cut most but not all wheat and sugar. Consume fewer potatos and lot fewer other carbs. Still enjoy our wine and beer (1 or at most 2) virtually every evening. I often nurse that second porter for 2-3 hours. She is eating more meat. Cut most of her baked deserts and just have raw fruit.

Came home today and she had three packages of "powdered pork.". What was this? Ground up pork rinds you use like bread crumbs for coating schnitzel, chicken, etc. Yeah baby!

I gave up grains entirely, except for a little distilled corn in moderation, back before Christmas, no beans either. Occasionally, I will eat a small amount of potatoes, usually sweet potatoes. I use honey as my only sweetener, but do occasionally indulge in dark chocolate. I started drinking almond milk rather than that from a cow. I am a big man, at 6'4" and 217 lbs. but do not have a gut or a droopy ass, as so many my age do. I have noticed a lot of changes as a result of my diet; much more energy is the most pronounced. I am much more flexible and no longer seem bothered with arthritis. I sleep less but much better rest and sleep apnea is no longer a problem, in fact, even snoring seems to be a thing of the past for the most part. I have dropped 20 lbs but seem to be trending towards holding this weight as more muscle mass develops. I eat a lot of bacon, pork chops with the fat, steaks, fish, shrimps, eggs, fruits, nuts and vegatables and drink mostly water or green tea with honey and lemon.

Dude that is brilliant! The last hog we had butchered, I got the fat from it. 3 big vac packed bags of cubed backfat. Or belly fat. I have no idea where it comes from. Anyway I was going to render it and make some soap just for grins, but now I think I'll turn it into cracklins and smash it up to use in place of Panko. :)

I am on a nutritionist recommended diet. No yeasts, no sugars & this means any sugars. I have fallen off the wagon so many times. I love fruit, I hate living without fruit, I feel awful if I don't have fruit (maybe it is a sugar withdrawal). I was a vegetarian for years and years so meat is okay but if I get a steak I will eat about 4 bites and that is it.

Oops, I got the name wrong, it was called Pork Dust ( powder, dust, what's the difference?). Here is a link to buy this stuff on Amazon.
Pork Dust - Pork Rind Breadcrumbs (Pack of 3):Amazon:Grocery & Gourmet Food

Somehow pork rinds listed in the Amazon gourmet food category seems a bit oxymoronic. :)
    Bon appetit.

Full in for almost a year now. Family friends and many coworkers have also joined me.

@ditch witch - we eat cheese and have no issue. PB says to stay away from dairy if you can't tolerate it. If you can, go ahead.

It isn't that I can't tolerate it, it's that I have zero control with it. I could live on nothing but bacon and cheese. It's just better for now if I cut it waaaaay back, because otherwise I tend to go on cheese binges and I'm pretty sure Primal isn't supposed to be 80% cheese, 19% meat, and 1% fruit or veg, heh.
