I marked like on this but I don't like this. This pisses my off. It makes me angry and How Dare They!!! How dare they do this to these men and women. How dare they make them out to be violent, killers. This will not help them heal, this will harm. They say this is unfair to businesses??!!! WHAT! What about freedom, this is a restriction of their freedom. What is this saying that they think of our veterans. This just can't be true. BTW- I live near a vet, he had many tours in Iraq. He is sick and the VA is not helping him. He has one of the other issues that vets brought home. This will not go over well.
Satire warning.... The Duffel Blog is an American military news satire organization featuring satirical articles reporting on US military news
Sorry Moto.... I should have put up the warning first.... don't want anyone to snap when they read this...
Don't spew your hate on the Duffel Blog! It's not hyperbole to say that it was the favorite news source of officers assigned to USFOR-A from about Jun-Dec 2012.
I caught that, lol.... that's when I knew it wasn't valid. But it sure was like other things those idiots would put into laws.
Are you joking me? I only got so far then stopped reading. I was muttering for a very long time. LOL! jokes on me but this is something those idiots in DC would try.
If you have the time and energy to spend being "distasted" by what I find funny, knock yourself out. Biting satire is an art form, and they've got it down. We weren't alleged officers at USFOR-A, we were actual officers at USFOR-A. If you've never been a staff officer at a Joint Combined Command, working 0730 to 2230 every day (except Fridays when we got to come in at noon in celebration of the muslim day of prayer), in a place that issued an average of two orders every single day, you haven't experienced a special kind of hell. Getting our version of the Early Bird from the Duffel Blog made life a little easier.
Military humor isn't often understood by those looking in from a different perspective. Once the realization set in that it was satire, I rather enjoyed the article's perspective ---. Sometimes, you just gotta be there to see it, and sometimes it is simply timing dependent, funny today might not be tomorrow, to say topical. Set me to thinking of a couple incidents back in the day that were uproarious at the time, and meaningless now. "Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end --" But they did, and a good thing; it wasn't all fun.
This is Congress and according to Nancy, we have to pass it to find out what is in it. This is similar to the Farm Bill to allow the IRS to confiscate the refunds to collect debts owed to SS because of overpayments 40 yrs earlier. The Congressman that sponsored the bill said it wasn't in the bill that passed.
When Janet Reno (us attorney general-waco) said what she did I quit taking anything the gub says as funny. Know this is humor but the threat is real and growing within the "beltway".
If this is real then that would mean a third of this country. Would have life and liberty taken from them.....
Because it is a fake story..... not a real thing.... just more a poke at the government for the extremes that they communicate they would like to go.... but are fearful to do so for exactly the right reason.... we would put them out on their ass. But that is just me... I may be wrong, but then again... I for one as a vet, would never stand for something like this... as 99% of our fellow brother's and sister's!!
As Ghrit said, us Mil folks have a bit of a twisted sense of humor that civilians sometimes just don't quite grasp. No offense meant... but amongst us, we understand and laugh a bit... knowing we have been there in some degree of understanding to the post.... and feel the true meaning of what is said vs the "issue" that most perceive.
Read bill, I am not great with "humor " am three time vet with noooooo real funny bone at all ...that's why we pay funny men so I don't have to be one LOL.. Besides you do know what they do to "funny men" don't you?;/(
