Was a little achy today. But after working up a sweat for an hour and a half doing qigong then taiji, no aches. Seemed appropriate to have dim sum after doing Chinese martial arts. Turnip cake, spicy Szechuan won ton, and beef dumplings with the broth on the inside.
That looks incredible! Wow, just wow. L I love good food just can't cook or do I like to. Now about this turnip cake. I love turnips and I love cake. Is it like a sweet cake or more like a corn bread?
It's not a cake, per se. It is grated turnip mixed with rice flour and a little meat and steamed until cooked. It will have a firm consistency. It is then seared before serving. Soooo goood. Just get yourself here and try it for yourself.
That sounds so healthy. Actually all the Primal people on here could eat it also. You really eat very healthy. Is it by choice or is it because healthy food is so readily available? You get fresh coconuts and who knows how old the ones at my store are. BTW- how do you tell if a coconut is good? LOL! Maybe, as long as I can wear my flannel and not get thrown off the island.
I don't think I really eat that healthy. My wife does. Me, I just enjoy my food. As to coconuts, if it's husked, I would shake it. The less sloshing, the more water is in there. If it feels softer, it is younger. More water less flesh. And the flesh will be more jelly like. More sloshing and harder shell probably means older with less water and more meat. The older ones have stronger tasting water. I haven't had any bad coconuts here. Although I did mail a few husked ones to a buddy in Utah. He said they had gone bad by the time he got them.
Dress is casual here. Wear whatever you want. You might be a tad warm in flannel most of the time. I am a business man and over the past several decades, my dress code has progressed the right way. I went from name brand and tailored suits to aloha shirts and slacks to shorts and whatever I feel like wearing on top. Don't think I can get any more casual than that. Haven't worn a tie in over 20 years. My wife scolds me when I go out with an old puka t-shirt. Puka = hole.
Great dress code! I love it; I have many pairs of shorts that I wear around the house, particularly for mowing the yard or grilling. My neighbors just roll their eyes and laugh at my singing while mowing the lawn. Life's too short to worry, jus' chill dude. Shaka bra!
Surprise surprise... Today was sushi after tai chi. I usually check if my family want to meet me. Little monkey said she wanted sushi, so a sushi we go. Thank you, Chef Ming, for the salmon tempura. Went with the sushi brilliantly. View attachment 28069 My students say some funny things. Today a new lady asks me if I do movies or consult in them. My response is I am not that good. She proceeds to tell me that she thinks I move better than what she sees in movies. I think she must watch really bad movies. ;p In my other class, another new lady asks me what other exercises do I do. So I tell her just the stuff I am teaching her and my private practice. She proceeds to tell me I have good muscles. When I told my wife, we both got a good belly laugh out of it. Anyway, here's looking at you, shrimp. View attachment 28070
