Of all the problems we are facing as a country, the bright side is that we will have an opportunity to select a new Commander in Chief in the 2016 elections, who is your pick and why?

We have that option only if our nation survives him. If he continues as he has, that may be a very big IF.

I think if you pick the left boob or the right boob you will be screwed either way.... just a thought. Either one is going to just cause you trouble and jeopardize your liberty!!!

At the risk of sounding too "gloom and doom", I don't really think it matters any more. IMHO, we're too far down the rabbit hole now for any politician to do anything more than possibly delay the inevitable. The economy is pretty much circling the drain, and I'm honestly just hoping things hold off long enough to get my lifestyle (aka "preps") in better shape to be able to take care of my loved ones, my immediate community, and maybe more. Unfortunately, I'm still not there, and it's beginning to look like a big gamble the wife & I took, might not pay off. If that proves true, it's going to be a bit of a setback.

But you keep plugging away, and move forward. Right? Right?

We need a President not affiliated with the Rebubli-craps or the Demo-rats.

Both have the same disregard for the Constitution, the same agenda and the same goal; to remain in power.

Unfortunately we will be forced by the mass media to choose between the two once again.

Voting with ballots doesn't matter, voting with boolets does. Understand I do not advocate overthrowing the US gubbermint however, I do advocate the restoration of a constitutional government. By any means possible.

@CrusinSloth at least then we'd have a strong POTUS (POTUSSR ?) [tongue]

Guess I'll just throw away my vote by voting for whomever the Libertarian Party nominates.
I hope Gary Johnson runs again.

Reagan, clearly care for the Constitution, his Country, and the People. He had wit and charm, and other world leaders knew he would back up his words with the might of US Power.

Whoever gets the nod, I can only hope HE has the stones to use the Constitution correctly. I'm tired of these power hungry pretenders that are possessed by NPD.

The office of president (note the lack of caps) is now just a corporate figurehead, it doesn't matter which side of the coin wins the toss until we finally stand up and demand our Republic and are willing to shed the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to rebuild a system that is rat infested and crumbling from decay.

How 'bout "None of the Above"? We're going to get the same old choices of evil or evil in a different suit.

There are some potentially great candidates who could do the job, but they don't stand a chance at election because they are:

    A. Not corrupt
    B. Not "team players"
    C. Actually understand the Constitution
    D. Love this Country enough to make the hard choices
    E. Honest

Most Americans "can't handle the truth". Sadly, I think the best we can hope for is a slower slide into decline.

unfortunately, the time to respond with a strong patriot act has long passed, i don't know if in my lifetime if it will be corrected. We are at a critical mass point in all things, technology has reached its mass, security of a strong country military has been apologized away. It will take a major rebuild at this point. The ones that are our best option for the position will not have a chance. our best chance is a split. a comedian once said well give them their solar, wind and renewable energy, we'll give them all the hybrid and electric cars, give them all the politicians that currently serve and we'll take all those guns they don't want. We will take all the guns that they dont want, gas guzzlin suv, oil and gas industry and they can have planned parent hood and the sorts alike.

Allen west is very vocal not sure how he would turn out, Jindal is not strong enough militarily, there is still alot of research that has to be done

Allen West caught my attention when he was running the first time. IMO he has become a typical Republican that no longer appeals to me nor do I think the true conservatives of this country want. Actually there was a thread on here last week about an article he wrote about EMP threat. IMO it was written trying to stir up fear. Either way the people of Florida only elected him once, he lost his election either to dirt fighting or failure to keep his promises.

Jindal is a typical Rhino. He is so in bed with the oil companies that are well entrenched in his state. All he cares about is party not people. That is what I always look for, how the person treated people vs party.

Well, most of these guys already nailed it by saying it's a lost cause to vote for either of the two major parties, even if the candidate is a Ron Paul, who ran on the Republican ticket as a strategy and was demonized by the corporate media. In order to fully grasp what is going on, we must consider a few very important points:

    1. Our nation is no longer a republic. It is a corporate oligarchy which is run like a fascist dictatorship, and disguised as a Democracy.
    2. The two major parties are a false paradigm, and it is wholly controlled by the media outlets who receive their instruction from the CFR.
    3. The office of the President is really a CEO position, since the "United States" is a corporation, as is every bureau and agency, and some like the IRS and FED are privately owned corporations who merely have appointed liaisons to act as government officials. The key word here is "act", as in pretend.

If we can accept these three main reasons, then there may be hope. All of their power resides in continuing the myth of government, with the support of the willing masses. The voting hype and sensationalism is a means by which they measure their ability to create legitimacy --making all of us believe we are in control, taking part and making changes. Of course, there is a large political debate leading up to the Presidency, and that, too is tightly controlled by steering the questions onto topics designed to create the illusion of how much we need them to solve our problems. This is a classic example of the Hegelian Dialectic in use, which is creating a problem to receive a reaction and then offering the solution. Politics today is nothing more than a scripted reality television show with dire consequences for the audience. Remember, virtually everything is a corporation these days, from every Federal agency to state agencies and even your local police. And like any corporation, they must provide a comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) to show their earnings and losses. It's also important to take note of how they hide funds and reinvest them, even transfer funds to black projects. Of course, it's beneficial for many of these government corporations to also show a deficit in order to promote and justify the phony taxation scheme, which is a redistribution of wealth creating one, massive middle class of citizenry while often further enriching the mega wealthy corporate elite. In essence, the poor stay poor and the filthy rich get even richer. That's not to say a common millionaire will skip out on being taxed, oh no. You have to belong to the corporate syndicate in order to receive a get out of jail card, so to speak. It's basically all just a conglomeration of cartels acting like legalized mafia, that's government today.

Though I did donate to Ron Paul, I knew he didn't stand a chance. Too many people are not motivated to research and learn about the people running for office. I also liked Herman Cain, though he was a dog- with his womanizing scandal there was something about him that made me smile. 999

Bottom line- I choose to remain optimistic in that my vote counts, I remain hopefully that there is a person out there that will step forward, run, win and heal this country. I will keep my rose colored glasses on for now.

With all the issues of current politicians I would rather a pres that had a mistress rather than one from another country:) I wish we could change the voting rules to exclude conflicts of interest receiving our tax dollars

And look at the IRS scandal when they forced thousands to submit to an audit just because they voted for Ron Paul. Yeah, the corporate media did its best to whitewash that.

I know the IRS is bad. I know that the IRS targeted Ron Paul contributors. I know that the media failed to report that Ron Paul was drawing in thousands to his speeches while Obama was barely filling seats. But I also think that Ron Paul was too open, too honest. His ideas, thoughts and knowledge scared people. Sadly Obama did it right. He lied, he waxed over things and got elected. After the second election the gloves are off and the real agenda is what we are seeing. No one dares to stop him now.
