Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and
every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a
deafening message that ... every red-blooded American
who supports our men and women afar, will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United
States on every Friday a sea of red much like a
homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every
one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will
not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it
will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is
on their side more than ever, certainly more than the
media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can
we do to make things better for you?" is ..."We need
your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out
and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear
something red every Friday.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!!

"On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress passed a resolution authorizing a committee to devise a seal for the United States of America. This mission, designed to reflect the Founding Fathers' beliefs, values, and sovereignty of the new Nation, did not become a reality until June 20, 1782. In heraldic devices, such as seals, each element has a specific meaning. Even colors have specific meanings. The colors red, white, and blue did not have meanings for The Stars and Stripes when it was adopted in 1777. However, the colors in the Great Seal did have specific meanings. Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Continental Congress, reporting to Congress on the Seal, stated:

GR, that would be before they (Congress) fled in terror from Philadelphia because the Brits had taken NY and were on their way. :) Luckily Howe took his time, stopped in Trenton for the winter and spent his time with a widow in NY. In a stunning move - forced because enlistments were running out Jan. 1 - Washington crossed the Delaware 12/25 and suprised the mercenary Hessians holding Trenton. 2 of his 3 offensive forces never made it because of weather or ice, and his force was late but they took it and it was the first time Washington actually led a battle. They'd been getting their asses kicked time after time by a superior force but Washington kept them together and changed the course of the war, which would last until Yorktown in 1781 and then the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

Infidel, I guess you think the Cincinnati Reds are commie? How about the Red Sox? You have no idea what you're talking about.

Red still has some conotations for me.

Red As in Russia
Red China
Red Tide

It may be a part of our colors but the colors of the USA are also shared with France... Think about that for a second.

I would think that a campaign like this would choose Gold or White for this type thing. Red would be great for a Bama game.. :)

That stuff means nothing to me, and as much as we don't like them now we might not even BE a country if it were not for help from France. I look at red as a color, and I wouldn't buy a car in it but it's ok. If I paid attention to all the colors in flags of countries we didn't like I'd have to go naked!

To me, REALLY supporting our troops means we would clean out Washington DC where there are a nest of govt weenies, most of which never wore a uniform, that are way too comfortable wasting our best as cannon fodder in wars for corporate interests.

I refuse to participate in cheerleading that, IMHO, causes way more harm to our troops by giving said govt weenies some feeling they have support for their policies of meddling and interference.

Support our troops by bringing them home. Now.

This just in from LBN:

"Let's go live to our correspondent in the field. Are you there ChokesOnIt?"

"Yes LibbyAss. What we have here is a vast demonstration with a multitude of 'anti-war' people who are wearing the color red to represent all the lives lost in the WAR ON TERRORRRRRR."

"So, it isn't what we had originally thought of as supporting troops. Rather it's a demonstration for pulling our soldiers home?"

"That's right LibbyAss. The original idea of a supporting our troops theme just doesn't pay well enough so we are calling it a 'Demonstration of Blood. Back to you LibbyAss."

"There you have it folks. Thanks to courageous liberals like myself and ChokesOnIt, there will be no pro-war sentiment televised. We will stamp out this evil before it starts. Don't forget to tune it to our nightly report where we will tell you where you can turn in your guns.

Also, they have now raised the reward to fifteen thousand dollars if you turn in neighbors who are hiding guns and extra food. This has been LibbyAss for the Liberal Broadcasting Network. Stay tuned for the 12th Annual Televised Book Burning brought to you by 'The Hezzbollah Are Our Friends' committee. Remember, Allah loves you and wants you to be a martyr."

********************************************************

What ya think? Possible? Scary though. What is this? A big friggin' popularity contest? What happened to the yellow ribbon for supporting our troops? Then again I guess if everyone dressed in yellow they would look like baby chickens or big bird exploded. Take your pic. Though why just red is beyond me. As I recall there are three colors to the American flag. Don't believe me? Look at my avatar. Haha. Seriously, this is just going to turn into a mess. I am telepathetic. I can fortell it. Haha. Killer tomatoes anyone? Big red blob spreading forth through the cities, chanting and waving signs. Make for good coverage. All our Soldiers should be supported and we should back them in every way as it is their duty to go no matter the reason behind it. You can object to an order to kill children, though war is not something you can balk at. You have to do your best and pray that all works out.

Instead of wasting time with displays though, as the Soldiers won't see it, I'd say save your money and send gift boxes to the Soldiers. There is plenty you can do to support them. Also, we do not need this turning into another vietnam where when the Soldiers get back they are labeled with horrific titles and BS. So in order to support the Soldiers, send them gifts that they can use and remind them that someone at home is worrying for their safety and also, write your representatives and let them know what's what. Know what I mean? My thoughts anyways.

Being born in USSR and immigrating into the US ... Slap me silly and call me Susan
having to wear red shirts on the aniversary of The October Revolution and then parade on the streets to show gratitude to "Our Troops" ... I think for americans to wear RED is either a Great Fucking Joke or Supreme Justice

On that note I welcome you to listen to this song while you don those Red Overalls.

All being said it is one of my more favorite syndicalist songs made by americans.

Russian flag is also "tricolour". For fun look up Netherlands, Serbi-Montenegro, Slovenia, and the Flag of International Pan Slavic Movement

Maybe you HAD to wear red but we don't. I don't even own a red shirt, as a matter of fact, and would not wear one for this. And I doubt anyone gives a shit what you think of anything Americans do.

Canadian version of Red Fridays

I have received this a couple of times on my email and I thought I would add a bit of a Canadian slant to the discussion. Being the northern cousins and not having the level of military involvement in theaters around the world there is quite a bit of opposition to the current mission in Afghanistan. We just recorded the 26th Fatality there since I believe 2003. Not nearly the loss that the US forces have had but there is quite the media outcry over this blood bath. Enjoy the read.
Al.Proud to be a Soldier !!!

From the daughter of a Soldier..

Last week I was in Trenton, Ontario. attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest act's of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded Canadian who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the little girl then she asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, he didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Corporal and had been in Afghanistan for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon."

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, their were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an Canadian.

I understand your analogy, but the difference here is that "Mother Russia" forced you to wear red, this is a grass roots movement. We WANT to show our support, we do it without Gov. intervention, but for our desire to let our soldiers know that we are behind them.

I like it. Where do I get one Comrade? I need one to wear to our Soviet, I mean Supportive rally. Don't scare me like that Quigley. :D Still I stick with my story that this will be manipulated for the liberal agenda. No matter if you wore blue, someone would find a way to twist it to make these supporters look like they are fanning the flames of war and are bad guys.

Here is a t-shirt meesa liksa for this Red Fashion Thing you got going.

They seem to be sold out, so I can not get one ATM. If this does become "Casual 'Support OUR Troops' Friday" banker sponsored attire I will try to get my hands on one of these.

Infidel, the reason they are sold out may be quite simple. They are being bought up quickly by the liberal left/democrap party for upcoming election parties. You know with Al and Jessie backing it, they have to say something witty and that shirt is what they are about. You'll have to get an invite to their sheeple party to get one. :D
