Wellm there was one republican and one independent and while not Dixie NV and NM would be southern, Ca barely counts as American. Kind of noticable though that with only 2 exceptions they all got a D.

 To say that this comes as no shock is a big understatement though it is true. I expect that in the near future if you speak only English you will most likely be strung up as an evil person. Whatcha think?

I don't recall nevada or new mexico being involved in the War of Northern Aggression, particularly for the South.

Oh God..my mother taught history at the College of Charleston...If you mentioned Nevada or New Mexico as being Southern? She would have had a stroke, right on the spot....

That's funny. I heard a Yankee was like a Quickie, only you do it alone.

Sad vote. What language do you suppose they'd like to have as the official language of America? Did it say anywhere why they voted against? I'm gonna' see if I can find out what my senator was thinking.

    Hi y'all!
Don't recall reading they were Yankee states either........:D

Actually I don't recall they were even states then either.......:D

Don't recall much of anything, really, 'cept the last time I was a guest in the south they treated me better and with more respect than most of the folks in the north do. [yack]

Talked to my wife today about voting, we both register republican. Elections coming up kind of have us wondering why. Republicans don't deserve our votes but damn-o-crats are totally undeserving. Spanish is not our first or second language. Should we be going back to school?

Basicly just that geographicly southern and at least from what I have been though of them didnt have a Yankee feel so since they came to be states after the war for states rights and normaly dont seem to be so much of a Yankee mindset figure if they are south of the Mason Dixon (if you extend it further west) as being southern. Like I say though Cali dont count, they barely even count as a part of the US, dont figure anyone really wants to claim them other than maybe the Democraps.

MM, Basically I've found if you get west of the Mississippi River, and not in the cities, the mindset is Western, not North/South. The PRK is different........

Nice to see both Senators from Michigan, Levin & Stabenow, are living up to their teasonous, bastard, sphincter-sniffing, reputations.

A country without a single language is the beginning of a slippery slope towards dissolution. Which I would like if I was heading to www.freestatewyoming.com

I know for a fact that most folks in Louisiana, Arkansas, east Texas, and southeast Oklahoma consider themselves Southern, not Western. Ain't that right E.L.?

NV being "southern" is new to me. There are an awful lot of cowboy hats and pickups in Pahrump, now I know why! Hafta order me some grits!

Good old Reid was on that list, that hunk of horse poop.

Well, There are exceptions even in those states, I was just speaking in general terms. As in, east is east and west is west, The Mississippi is a general division in general so you might call it a general thing. I'm not looking to reopen a discussion on the war for states rights or northern aggression or civil war or war in general.

I know a lot about both sides of that issue, I spent part of my growing up years in the south. While it's natural to think that the side you are on is right, neither side was completely right and neither side really won, we all lost heavily in that one. Bad as our Yankee nation is, it is better that it is united for a lot of reasons.

I served in a war supposed to be for the USA, I got ripped off, peed on and blah blah blah, but I was right there with men from the south that got the same treatment I did. Didn't matter if we was white, black, red or Vietnamese, we all got screwed, just like our young men are getting today. Not just us but them too, who's right and who's wrong?

So, rant off, guess you went and got me off topic. :D

Sad part is, all Lincoln had to do was to offer to purchase every slave in the south for more than the going rate and he could have then given them their freedom--that is assuming you believe the war was about slavery...which it most certainly wasn't, but is simply how history has chosen to remember it. The victor writes the history, not the loser.

I saw a statistic like it would have cost 1/10 of the total cost of the war to purchase the slaves, not including the lives lost.[violin]
