The Monkey is a "Community" and you are already a probationary Member.... Physical Prep'er Communities are few, and very Far Between, and most do not take Newbies, that have No one to vouch for them, or are UnKnown. These are the facts of life, in the world, but you can continue to look, OR start your own Community, and find out just how hard it is to make one work.
Starting your own Community is a tough way to go, especially if you have no contacts. It can be done, just takes some work.

Starting an actual community is next to impossible. There are just too many variables that can throw a monkey wrench into the works and screw every thing up. Like how are you going to vette the potential members? Do you realize the amount of back ground checks to be done to weed out the criminal elements that will take advantage. Now, after all that, you are now faced with psychological aspects of the potential members, do you want psycho's and sociopaths part of your community? The best community that almost every one has is their own family.
There are some groups around but with increasing fed scrutiny getting into them may prove next to impossible. One's family and the groups security are paramount and strangers will be highly and long term suspected of being a mole. The FBI/and other alphabet groups are frothing over themselves to "keep tract" of potential domestic terrorists. They seem to care less about the thousands streaming in every week or two from the southern borders.
likewise thinking about joining a community .... far and wide .... but you might be able to find a prepper friend or two in your area .... just like anything else .... there's a website devoted to the task ... I'd recommend the following .... Prepper Groups
While it appears "preppers" are slow to band together, there's plenty of others folks who have formed fully functioning communities. Intentional communities directory.
You might add some info on yourself--state from, job capabilities, hobbies, interests, abilities, etc.
Over the years i have met people i trust through outdoor activities like backpacking and hunting. I believe a good measure of someones character is how they act when conditions are less than ideal. Discretely look for people who think like yourself, then the rest will come. Just dont be too quick to let people into your inner circle, and never tell anyone everything.
