The aftermath can be prepared for somewhat...but there isn't much you can do for ebola other than try to keep the patient hydrated and pray.

ETA: This was answered when only the first two options were available...gov't incompetence is always a concern ;)

Thanks for allowing the change, CATO...

Squirrel away in a rabbit hole till it passes.... that would be optimum. When to do that is a good question that probably is not ready to be answered.

None of the above. Just not worth the worry. Que sera, sera, and that's why we prepare, and practice good sense when faced with unknowns.

The scariest thing here is that the makers of hand sanitizers can't meet demand because of the private market buying it all and therefor hospitals cant get the amounts they need so hygiene is lacking in those institutions. Happens every now and then when there's a new flu going and so on. The elderly for example can be extra sensitive to simple infections such as the common cold and when your that old that can acctually kill you. That's my biggest concern.

I would change the third answer to "Not Worried Yet"
I would get worried if it went airborne.

I could be not worried at all, however this administration seems to be doing everything in its power to get it wrong.

    What has me scared?
    • Govt still not taking it seriously; The Ebola Czar doesn't start his job for 5, as in five, months, as in about 150 days.
    • Govt bureaucrats are in charge of the response. That will sure speed things up!
    • Govt bureaucrats are making decisions about how to combat the disease. In ten years when they finally have a plan it will be wrong.
    • Govt bureaucrats will allow political correctness to make whatever plan they come up with impotent. They will likely forbid testing of travelers from Africa so as not to offend while a businessman from Duluth will be quarantined for six months for a 90 minute flight.
    • Govt bureaucrats repeatedly tell me not to worry.

I'm not worried. Concerned yes, but not at all worried. You'd think having done the research I have, I would be close to freaking out, but honestly I'm not. Maybe it's because I know what we're in for, and have taken steps to prepare for that. And I know it might not be enough, but I did my best, and that's all you can do. Though the thought of what our country would look like in the aftermath of a pandemic is heartbreaking.

The disease is not what bothers me. It is what fear will allow .gov to do. Emergency powers, Ebola czar, locking away citizens under "an abundance of caution.", ........:(

To sum it all up: Government Incompetence under the Current Administration.

I had posted the following in another thread. It is a good read and based upon history:

A constant worry if thing do go upside down where i live. I have neighbors that i can see from my place and visa versa, and we keep an eye out for each other. The closest city of any real size is 80 miles away and we still have to deal with idiots that think that a sparsely populated area is a good place to hide.

Well let's see......They intentionally bring it to the US, They don't take it to San Antonio where research and study of Ebola has been conducted for the past 15 years, Then when an Ebola carrier vomits on the sidewalk, instead of hosing it down with bleach, they use a pressure washer and make it airborne. Why worry?

I voted for Incompetent .Gov making things worse.... However they can be as stupid as they care to, and it will not really reach clear out here and impact me.... So I will watch it happen on CNN, and just worry about anyone who actually shows up this far out.... The BTPost Quarantine Plan will be "In Effect" if it gets out of Dallas, or another Outside Country Case shows up....
