What ever happened to the private Militias that were common a few years back? Are they still active or did they call too much attention to themselves?

With all the bad publicity and the federal government putting all the folks on terrorist watch-lists, essentially labeling anyone connected with them as a psychotic gun-nut soldier wanna-be, it became smarter to go under ground. The good people are still there and the nut-cases are still grabbing the camera.
Nobody really wants to be next in line for another Waco.

They're clandestine now, Ardent Listener. Plenty of Merc's still around, too. Just look at Blackwater. Ric

After 9/11, A lot of them disbanded.

TN, KY and GA are mostly gone or falling apart from infighting. Seacowboys is right and I think the problem was that they actually started to attract that TV sterotypical Nut Case. The liabilities were too great so they let it go and prolly moved on in smaller numbers.

    IMHO

Cells is what they would be called in clandestine ops. Whether or not they are still communicating is unknown. Or so I think.

Speaking of Waco, there is an advertisement on the Discovery channel that tomorrow they are going to have a show about the massacar on the Davidians. Anyone want to bet they are going to play Jan-dolph Reno-tler in a good light?

It is my opinion that yes they have all went underground. They started to recieve way too much attention even prior to waco. When Waco hit it was just the final straw. Those that were smart enough to screen and select solid canidates rather than just taking every moron off the street were also wise enough to realize that it was time to go quietly into the night.
I think that there are more cells or groups than ever before they just are wiser, calmer and most importantly quieter now.
    Take care Be safe Poacher.

After the Oklahoma City bombing there was a lot of heat on them from what I understand and that took its toll on numbers and especialy on how many were out in the open, then Waco sent a lot more to either disband or go underground and after 9-11 and the patriot act then most that remained went underground or disbanded. There are still a lot of them out there but not many that are out in plain sight or openly recruiting aside from maybe some of the ones that come closer to fitting the stereo type.

    Off-shoots:
    1. No more vendors at gunshows selling Palidin Press publications, or novels by Rawles, Ross, or anyone else worth a damn.
    2. Very few title ll parts available. Just asked a vendor why he had no M-16 safeties and he said the BATF had gotten to be too much of a threat to sell them at gunshows but if I wanted one, to bring my blue stamp into his shop.
    3. very few kits for builds any more
    4. no militia folks passing out literature
    5. no more Waco or Ruby Ridge videos for sale
    6. Militia websites dissappearing
    7.Libertarian websites gone
    8. Waco and Ruby Ridge websites dissappearing

I asked some of these guys why that was and they all answered the same: The BATFE don't like it. This tells me that we are now too afraid of our government to exercise any of our liberties.

I see plenty of the Mercs at Gun Shows...

They look impatiently unemployed. Kind of remind me of Michael Douglas in Falling Down. Ric

There is plenty of work with Black Water and any one of fifty or so other "Security" firms operating in the middle east. Those are just wanna-be bad guys.

I have been following this thread and watching the responses. I logged out and went to a "Word" document to write this, because I want to take my time and edit myself.

I wasn’t going to respond at all but the comment by Seacowboys got me to thinking, and remembering, and I knew that I needed to chime in.

SC is right. People have been scared of admitting or talking about that subject on the boards lately. And that is a sad comment on where we are in this country today.

And the paranoia factor is much more prevalent now days. My first impression, and I ask that you not get offended, I don’t mean anything personally, but when I see a thread like this, started by a poster who has been here several months and who only has 28 posts, my first thought is that it is a fed spy, fishing for information. If you are a legit member here then please accept my apology. But that doesn’t change the fact that there are many spies on these types of boards just looking to gather information on us "subversives".

But the fact that they are here shouldn’t deter a free man from exercising his right to freedom of speech. I was remembering the words of a leading Patriot speaker, Jack McLamb. He said in a speech in Phoenix in the early 90’s, in reference to the "lists" that the feds were compiling on Patriots, he said " I am tired of people hiding and cowering, as for me I demand to be put on those lists, I demand to put at the top of every list of people who despise this damnable system that is subverting this great nation of ours!"

No one who was there or who have seen the video, and heard Jack’s passion and heard his voice crack with emotion at the end of this quote could help but be stirred. I have stood in meeting halls that were standing room only and felt the walls reverberate when Mark Koernke would lead the crowd in shouting our great Patriot battle cry " GOD BLESS THE REPUBLIC!!! DEATH TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!! WE SHALL PREVAIL!!!"

The passion then was something to see. I liken it to a Christian conversion, when your eyes are opened and you have "seen the light", you are on fire and want to go out and save the world, you want to tell everybody the good news, spread the Gospel. The early days of the Patriot movement were like that. But it doesn’t take long to realize that most people don’t want to be saved. They don’t care about the good news. They have their little world and they don’t want it disturbed. Most people just don’t care and don’t want to hear it.

And then you have the ones who give it lip service. As long, as it’s easy and doesn’t cost them anything. How does the quote go? " A Patriot is a rare thing at the beginning of a cause, but when his cause succeeds then it is easy to be a Patriot and he has much company" or something to that effect.

The Patriot movement was just the opposite, it was easy to be a "Patriot" in the beginning, but when things started to get tough, they became a rare thing. Waco, OKC, the "War" on Patriots waged by the Clintonistas. Cut off the head and the body dies. One by one Patriot leaders across the country began to be targeted and "eliminated".

Not killed but silenced nonetheless. False charges, unfair and unjust charges, ambiguous "Federal Gun Crimes" charges. Do you remember them? Do you even know their names? They tried to warn you, warn us, and today they sit in federal prisons for being outspoken, for not being politically correct, for refusing to bow, to kneel to the beast.

Mark Koernke, Bob Stewart, Charlie Puckett, John Stadtmiller, names you may have heard, but probably not. Many, many more whose names that you wouldn’t know. Men, leaders, Patriots, who like the ones who gave us this country, pledged their lives, there prosperity and their freedom to defend this idea that we should live as free men.

And many were called upon to make good on those pledges. Many of us lost friends, family, livelihoods, and many lost their freedom. And when the heat was turned up, we saw those who had cried the loudest, those who swore to "fight to the end", and those who claimed "from my cold dead hands", most of those who were the loudest, were the quietest when it came down to it. They were the first to slink away in the night, they went home and burned their uniforms, threw away there literature, erased their videos, and sold their weapons.

The "Gun Show Commandos", the soldier wannabes, the great movement of people who were to be the last line of defense, the ones who were going to stand up to the New World Order, the great citizen army who were going to battle tyranny, defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, they faded away like a morning fog before a single shot was fired. Instead of going out with a bang, our great Patriot movement died with a pitiful whimper.

Are there still Patriots out there? Yes. Are the blow hard, keyboard, gun show commando, GI Joe wannabes still out there? You bet, and they seem to be increasing.

I know that many of the leaders of the 90’s will never again put themselves out front again. Risk their freedom, their fortune, for a people who will run at the first sign of trouble. We find ourselves, like jaded evangelists, only preaching to the choir now.

It is hard to lead when no one follows. It is a lonely thing to find yourself out front and leading the charge and look back to find your "loyal troops" have all faded into the night. I know, I’ve been there.

I see a lot of Johnny-come-lately’s who are all fired up and like to talk the talk as anonymous posters on various boards. I sit back and shake my head and know that they would never walk the walk. I have even heard them say that those of us "in the day" screwed it up. We were to vocal and to out front and gave the movement a bad name.

I suppose that they think that we should have kept silent. Bow to the beast and only talk about it in private, or anonymously. I see the "patriots" today, I see the camo’d commandos, swaggering around the gun shows and talking their cheap talk, and I know that they don’t even know, or care about the true "Patriots", who sit in jail today for demanding to be put on the list. I know that they never have, nor ever would send a letter of encouragement to these brave men, or send a donation to their families that have been deprived of their husbands, fathers, and breadwinners, for them, for us. I see them and I weep for the future.

What ever happened to the Militias you ask?
We met the enemy, and he was us.

Will the new world order, globalists, etc., take over our nation?
    They already have.

Will the people rise up and fight?
No. They had their chance and failed. Or more to the point refused.

Will our nation descend into a fascist police state?
    Just look around you.

    Is the battle lost?
    It was never fought.

Our battle cry has now become a whispered confession.
" God rest the Republic, Hail to the new world order, it was all to no avail"

    For those who are not afraid of the "Lists";

    From Marks website;
Please drop Mark a note, he has requested news articles since they can be copied and sent, his address is as follows ...
    Mark Gregory,, Koernke #295350

To send a donation to his family

Mark has been denied parole each time he has come up. They say that he refuses to admit to his "crime". He was set up, plain and simple. He still refuses to bow. He will have served his entire sentence next year.

No offense taken Minuteman, so no need to apologize. As always, one should respond to any thread here or on other such forums in general terms and not give specifics as to personal information.

The truth of the situation is depressing, disturbing, cruel, demented and very stirring to a fevered pitch. A wise man once said, 'Teach us for our minds are open, our hearts are strong and our souls fierce.'

I have never been much of a leader. I don't like the spotlight. I do sometimes have great ideas. I'd rather be able to give ideas to the leaders though I do good as a follower. A follower I may be, though that doesn't mean I am a stupid sheep.

I can see that sitting on your laurels hoping things will change isn't going to lead to change. I also see that attacking a random target like was done in OKC is not going to change anything. So what's to be done? Where can we find the solution? I am really interested in this. How do you fight a war that you may not be able to win? I know with honor and cunning, though just what that entails is up in the air.

I am truly puzzled. Any of the wise wish to help me on this train of thought?

Oh and as a side-note, for any and all of you abc monkeys watching or recording the messages of this site or myself, bring a pizza if you come to visit. I like mushrooms, onions, sausage, beef and extra cheese. :D
