These posts were split from another thread as an explanation for this forum and why it's excluded from New Posts and why new threads do not show up on the sidebar of the main page.

This forum may contain colorful language/phrases language and possibly offensive ideas. It's suggested to 'Watch' this forum to receive alerts when there are new posts.

We do not necessarily agree with or advocate the beliefs, expressions, or opinions of the writers or advertisers. Mostly we do, though.

Not my words GOG. Was a post from a blog I frequent - John Mosby does not mince words...
Moved to The Inferno until I can find a better way to share some more 'straightforward' commentary without freaking people out. :)

Maybe we need a '3% Forum' tucked under Freedom and Liberty?

I've grown weary of sitting back and watching my rights erode.

It doesn't freak me out. I trained with guys just like him for a long time. Michigan Militia are the real deal. Ex military and they talk and walk the walk. I learned everything about being self reliant from them and the Monkey of course;). We have a lot of like minded folks here who are ready to do what ever is needed . Food for long term? check, weapons for long term? check, backup power for long term? check, Gasoline for long term? check. I love his attitude.

Many of us are weary, I think that would be a prudent Forum to create... maybe tucked into the clubhouse type area.... separated per se. Mostly as an opsec feature for those that are concerned about others listening TO closely.

Talked to a few monkeys today about this. Wherever we put it, threads/posts would be excluded from New Posts and not shown on the main page under New Threads. That way, those who wanted to see what was brought over (at this point I'm thinking of copying a bunch of posts from 3% blogs I frequent) would know where to go. This would actually be a great way for others to read this stuff without having to point their browser at these sort of blogs. Same intent with the auto posts from TAILS and TOR... Bring the update notifications here so savvy monkeys don't need to log a click on those sites. Replies are optional :)

Just think what it would be like if we could have all the Monkeys together in one prepped location when SHTF. With the knowledge, experience, and preps combined it would be a kick ass group.

Only problem I see is to many chiefs and not enough indians since there are a lot of type A's here.

Divy up areas of responsibility.... delegation would be the key to success/survival. Each has their strong point... capitalize on that foundation and you would have a great team!!

Well, we have a pretty strong contingent in the PNW... Most of the guys I read are also in the Redoubt.
In a group of type A's, I think you start the scale over. I'm certainly A but will yield to better, smarter, stronger, more creative folk to get the larger picture squared away. I do it at work too

If any of us can get to where the posts are then .goob can also get there. No matter how isolated you make the posts and even vetting who can read it will not stop the wrong people from seeing it. OPSEC no matter what!!!

Nothing except strong encryption is safe from the .gov. "Private Forum" would = a false sense of security.

I've honestly held back on posting my thoughts on this mainly because I'm thinking my opinions would be pushing the rules a bit. I do like the idea of a forum/area that is a bit more private/selective, whatever you want to call it to express opinions on certain topics that would be out of the public eye so to speak and for the reason @Yard Dart mentioned.

My opinion is: Good idea Melbo.... These type things belong in the in the ClubHouse area, where those of US who support the Site, can read, and post, things that are "Dear to our Hearts" to "like Minded Monkeys" and separated from the "Great UnWashed" that might want to "Peruse our Ramblings".... to see what us "Right Wing Whacos" are thinking, and Up to, these days.....

I'm not sure it makes much difference where it's put. Anyone or anything that no more than casually passes through the tree knows some here have views that would go against the more liberal ideas the mainstream population has. If that puts their panties in a wad so be it. 1st amendment and all that jazz. Inferno is fine. We usually handle trolls pretty well once we’re through using them for laughs and ridicule. And people like Kell get their shot heard too.

The only reason for the inferno position is the language. The philosophy is good, regardless, IMHO.

I'm leaning public forum but excluding from New Posts and the New Threads sidebar on the main page. People that want to can 'Watch' the forum and receive alerts when a new post or thread is made. If you aren't specifically looking for it, you won't see it. There are members here who only visit certain forums on SM.

Political correctness has crept into too many areas of our lives and maybe we need some shock and awe to snap us out of it. I think this was a good introductory salvo towards that... ;)

I think it is a fantastic idea, wherever you decide to put that forum. I think it would be a healthy "place" to break that PC crap and express our Warlord self without the brakes of societal B.S.!!! Putting it in a Public forum would allow those that want to have a voice, but not the ability to provide support, still be able to partake of the content. I like the exclusions you posted above regarding New Post/Thread listings on the sidebar, those rules would be prudent for the site as a whole....
