@Ganado, this is the same form I believe your Gramma practices and teaches, Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis. I also teach the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qigong, the Yang Style Tai Chi and am learning the Wudang Tai Chi (probably my favorite).

One of my students asked me to demonstrate TCA to the class. And I found out another videoed it. Anyway, not my best work. But I wanted to do it quickly so as not to take up the class' time.

Ok, here goes. Hope I don't embarrass myself too much.

madmax Far right. Bipolar. Veteran. Don't push me.

Nice. My father helped a Chinese fella immigrate to USA. He was a doctor and a veterinarian. Eventually he got his whole family here. He blew us away with his practice. I need to get back with it.

Nice. It looked good to me, though I know next to nothing about Tai Chi.

Thanks guys. I normally do it at 1/3 to 1/4 if that speed. Sometimes slower. The slower you go, the more introspective and meditative it becomes.

Hanzo you move alot.... And I do mean alot of energy... Are you intentionally dropping or siphoning off at the end of each sequence?

Me too, @kellory. I tell my students to make it up if they don't know. Just keep it safe and make it feel good.

Having tried Tai Chi, you have my respect. Hard to make it that fluid. The footwork was backwards to European styles I'm used to, if memory serves.Ball to heel versus heel to Ball, and the stepping order was different too. Much respect.

And in case any of you are unaware, that level of Tai Chi would whoop your butt in a brawl. As a talking point. Haha.

Mahalo @AxesAreBetter. Unfortunately, the only butt to get whooped in a brawl will likely be mine.

I have seen Tai Chi sped up to "combat" speeds. Frankly terrifying is how I normally classify it.
    Regardless, I have been impressed.

One of the forms I learned over 30 years ago was a combat form. Much quicker with larger steps and a follow step to close distance. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the choreography.

Because I also emphasize health over martial to my students (mostly seniors), I focus more on weight shift and waist turn than hands and feet. It can also strengthen the martial applications.

Awesome use of the opponents momentum against them.

Master Chen is a top martial artist and could kick pretty much anyone's butt. He has invited me to Wudang to train with him before. But alas, I cannot commit the time required to make it worthwhile. Especially for him. Any time I could spend with him and the other Wudang masters would be awesome for me. I don't think I would make it worthwhile for him.
