    hey! i just found this. BT, ghrit and kelleroy over here talkin trash. i held my peace because Ganado persuaded me to stick around a bit. keller i see you have all the answers but don't know the questions and your moral code is higher than Gods. the three of you are so far into yourselves you need a glass stomach to see where you're going. i'm 67 and have forgotten more about war, survival, and suffering than the 3 of you will ever learn. its apparent you are 3 pitiful rambo's with too much time on your hands. everyone else has been just peachy. i wont darken your doors again. see ya.

    I suppose it's worth setting out some things.

    First, @fleabaggs posted a comment in the other thread to the effect that @kellory wasn't serious with a comment made. This, without time to get to know any other members even peripherally. As such, the comment could have been taken as either lighthearted or somewhat insulting. Given it was an early, if not the first post, I took it as insulting to kellory and responded accordingly. I am NOT PC under the best conditions as most of you know, but usually wait out a few posts before coming to my own conclusions about a member. In view of recent experience, nipping things in the bud has become necessary to limit site disruptions. That, I'll continue unless or until it's PROVEN to no longer necessary, or the site owner tells me to stand down. In that, I am and will continue to be a site Rambo.

    Second, thanks to @BTPost and @genado for encouraging him to stay (via PMs). It is never our intent to run off newbs for shortsighted posts, even with evidence that the CoC was considered toothless and pointless box checking.

    Third, the above post is in clear violation of the CoC and would normally result in, at minimum, a warning from a mod or admin. The fact that it hasn't happened (that I know of) is testament to the restraint that most staff possesses when dealing with newbs.

    Forth, the statement about age and experience in the above is nothing short of chest thumping. Age is NOT a relevant item regarding life experiences, whether from war, survival or suffering (or joys, for that matter.) For the record, both BT and I are older than he is, and our experiences are surely different; perhaps we remember a bit more than he gives us credit for. In any case, matching life's experiences tit for tat with him isn't going to happen; it's pointless and meaningless.

    With all that out of the way, fleabaggs is welcome to stay and take away what he wants to take, contribute or not at his choice, up until another incident pops up. I really don't care (beyond hating to see unhappy members) if he stays or goes, that's his choice.

    Ghrit all valid points and thank you for explaining you thinking.

    A couple of thoughts ...and I mean no disrespect.

    1) I don't think we need pc in the mix however a little politeness certain is social grease for misunderstandings. And written media like a forum or a chat is very easy to misinterpret what is said because we don't have all the other indicators for communication like body language and voice tone.

    2) assuming an Insult automatically from a post and then being heavy handed in a response on a first few posts gives the appearance of attacking 1st and asking questions later. The fact that you want new people to have no opions when they 1st start posting smacks of a dog marking his territory and I do see that in here. The fact that mods post comments about a pm from a new member on his introduction site is completely uncivil and flat out rude. And is again a control issue of dog marking his territory. The things that were said on this thread about him were beyond the pale of civil behavior and I would hope we would continue to be civil to one another now as a guide for decent human behavior rather than smack down verbally or in this case written form.

    3)if age and experience are as you say 'chest thumping' then so is longevity on this forum which seems to be a very high measure of some forms of credibility here. So if age is not an issue for experience my request is that that same criteria be applied to longevity on this site. In which case there are people who should be chastised frequently for trolling

    So my requests are
    1) please don't assume the worst and fire off another comment to exacerbated the situation. Ask 'did you mean to be insulting' or ignore them.

    2) please start cracking down on long term members who do troll. It's too easy to just fire off crap without thinking so if individuals don't have an edit function it might be appropriate to help them find one

    Lights are not out. People are not dying from a lack of stolen shopping carts, nor infections. Your premise is a complete falsehood, and your tone insulting.
    If you will act without morals NOW, then you are no one I would trust with anything more dangerous than a pair of safety scissors, when it truly matters.
    NOW, you need to follow your moral code, the laws of your location, and your conscience, or you stand with anarchy. Grow up, or someone will use you for fertilizer, when they catch you "repurposing" their stuff.

    His comments, and mine. He jumped on me, used lies to justify theft, and seemed to feel justified because he has "suffered". If he has suffered while prepping, just how well did he prep? It would seem he did it wrong. I believe a few monkeys just rode out major storms, fires, and earthquakes, with little more than..."..a temporary inconvenience".
