Thank you all for the warm welcomes! Currently, I'm interested in learning about history of the U.S.A., and not have it skewed by going through the government filter. Also looking for general wilderness survival tips. Any advice on where to start?

 

Yes, north idaho is amazingly beautiful. I'm grateful to live in a place where I can ski, camp, swim, boat, backpack, hunt, and any other outdoor activity!

Start by reading the Constitution. And go outside and play.

 

I would also recommend the Federalist papers. For a look into who the men who shaped this Nation, were.

 

I think he may be was asking where to start on survival tips. Or maybe he does want where to start with history.

 

In the beginning.......(perhaps back to basics, would be a good starting point?)
