Has anyone ever taken an herbalist course? I'm wondering if it'd be worth the time and money, or if I could find one that was legitimate.
There are alot of really good ones around and I would start with a few $ $$ and bet a good book on herbal concoctions and talk to your county extension agent for identifying local herbs. Or a master Gardner and just spend time and money making stuff you use every day. Learn by doing and don't be afraid of making mistakes. Learning by doing is the best teacher
My son is studying it online at Youtube. There are a few different ones he's been watching and they are free! I'll get the links and post them for you in a day or so. Very interesting stuff on there!
New England Academy Of Herbalism Is one you can Purchase but there are a lot of free seminars online. If your wanting certification you'll have to "Pay The Man", if you want the knowledge you can get it for free!
I saw an herbal group on Meet up but have never gone because stranger danger type attitude. But I also know some of the local herb shops- not the ones that @kellory mentioned but the normal ones have classes that are fairly cheap. IMO it is best to find a gardening group and they are the more knowledgeable. The shops that hold classes do not grow their own herbs and IMO learning from seed to usage is the best education.
