While I am very cinical about the whole political process. (I agree with George Wallace that there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the parties. It doesn't matter who you vote for, the Government always gets elected.) I do participate in the process. I am not naive enough to think that any party will save our Constitutional rights, I do believe, however, that the one party will nullify them quicker and more blatantly than the other. So with that in mind I share this......MM

My thoughts exactly. You know, if there is one sign of encouragement among the masses, it is the wildfire like spread of concealed carry throughout the nation. The politicans have to notice.

I used to vote Republican until I finally figured out they were simply using a slower truck to drive us off the cliff than the Democraps.....though with Bush in office, they've managed to find the accelerator.

Now, if I bother to vote, I'll be voting for the most socialist, communist one of the bunch to bring this to a head.

MAYBE if a socialist in office says "TURN IN YOUR GUNS", enough people will wake up and re-take this country.

Otherwise, we're going down the same road at a slow boil.

Anti-gun lobbyist Sarah Brady is optimistic about gun-banners' chances on election day 2006. She says, "This is the opportunity we've been waiting for."

Andy, I think you kid yourself if you think another incremental assault on gun rights is going to bring about any kind of revolution or positive social change.

I agree with JC. The goal of anti-gun advocates is to slowly whittle away at the laws through a war of gradual diminishment of rights. A war of gradualism is like a war of attrition. In the end, those who didn't fight hard enough/smart enough lose.

I expect record sales of guns over the next 2 years. If congress goes democrat, expect record sales from Nov -06 through Jan 06 and beyond. All hats are off and watch the 30 round clip prices rise. Get your post-pre-ban-post-ban rifles ready for price increases, too.

I toyed with voting for Gore for that very reason. Bring this thng out in the open and see what happens.

I am really at a loss as to how to vote anymore. I have lost total faith in the Republican agenda and detest the Democrats. My vote for third party candidates always seems to jeopardize the lesser of the other two evils as Perot did more for electing Clinton than popular vote. My vote is my voice and it is over-powered by big government, big business, and lobbyist. Given the choices we are offered is like choosing a turd sandwich with or without mayonaise. Why would I even want to keep my guns in a world where I can't speak my mind without fear of repercussion? Why should I care about an inanimant object, a possession, when my every movement is watched and documented? When my dollar is nothing but worthless paper used to wipe the collective asses of some foreign interest? When I can be labelled a terrorist because I want the information and training to further a revolt against a system that isn't working? When I love my country but hate my government? Where is my right to prejudge a portion of our population that has had forty years preferential treatment and still cannot join the mainstream society? The simple truth is that they will pry your weapons from your cold dead fingers and won't think twice about it. Gunship trumps hunting rifle almost every time. Seal beats Gulf War vet come insurance salesman, every time. It's in the cards, folks...and the deck is stacked.

I 'm begining to feel like a frog, peeking over the edge of the pot , to see someone turn it up one more notch....
Gettin' kinda warm in here or is it just me???

P.S. I'm getting old (er)and slower and I don't put in as much range time as I used to, but when they march ya into the compund , think I'd still make for the fence instead of the showers...
Can't believe we are even talking about curtailment of basic civil rights.
