I'm beginning to think the Dollar Store might rival the WSJ as an economic indicator - when you go in and you can't find anything under $2.75 you know we're in trouble
Is it the actual "Dollar Tree" store, where everything really is $1? Or is it a Dollar General or some other Dollar Store chain? Most "Dollar Stores" are simply losing to the competition, since the Dollar Tree has grown in size steadily, and continues to do so.
The one I stopped into on Sunday night to buy a quick item was a Dollar Store. When the Grand Union market closed last year, the Dollar Store moved in but its the first time I've been there.
You are way too polite. Tell her a 2nd time, drop the please while in forward motion. Open the door and she will move. Politeness is lacking in society but some people need a taste of their own medicine.
I would not have been that polite after her refusal. Shopping is work and your time is worth something
"Hello! Your hair is lovely." "Why, thank you!" "Mind if I just squeeze in here a second?" *nudge, grab, scoot* Done. (This does not work with soldiers, so when my CO told me I lacked political sway, I told him soldiers only obey higher ranking soldiers. But, civilians are sometimes too easy.)
I went to our local Dollar Tree this week and found a box of 5 emergency candles for a buck. I bought 10 boxes. They are usually 4-6 dollars a box in most places around here.
