Looks like another night in the hospital. Sweetie is hurting more today than yesterday, but apparently that is not unusual.

She still has a drain in her incision and probably won't be released until that gets removed.

    Slow improvement.

Give her time. This has been traumatic on her. I was in the hospital 10 days after mine. This was 1973. I only weighed 93 pounds when I got to the hospital. Back then they did not get you out of bed for 3 days.

Just makes sure she turns and coughs every 2 hours.

I just went through this last October, Im really fortunate i can eat anything after with no troubles. The doctor said it might be because mine was almost 100% full of 3 large stones and probably hasn't worked right in a long time allowing my body to adjust just like as if it was never there.
    Hope all goes well.

We are finally back home. Monday last week thru Monday this week. What an incredible up/down 7 days. Sweeetie still has the drain in. We have a follow-up visit this coming Monday and it should come out then. She's feeling better, no pain good attitude. But we both are wiped out, physically, mentally and emotionally. Thanks everyone for your support! Good night. :)

@TXKajun my best wishes and prayers for you and your wife. Been through that not much fun. I was told to stay away from ruby red grapefruit juice which is too bad because I love the stuff.

It's been a few weeks now and I'm happy to report Sweetie is well on her way to recovery. The incision has healed up (looks a little like a faint zipper! LOL) and the drain hole has closed nicely. Once she quit trying to recline in the recliner for about 4 days, the pain went away and she started healing nicely.

So far, the only foods we've noticed give her problems are bread (this was happening before the surgery) and foods with a lot of fat (like bacon or greasy gravy from steak). She's feeling much better. Thanks for all he great thoughts and wishes!

Nice to see all is well :)

For future reference, citric acid (in the form of lemon juice) taken daily (4 ounces), or apple cider vinegar is a very useful preventative for kidney stones.

    Best wishes!

Glad to hear she is doing better TK:) If she is like many(myself included) that have had this procedure it will be a few months at least before her system will tolerate fatty foods and deep fried stuff. To this day I am this way and I had mine removed about two years ago. A person either changes their diet or learns to live with it. I choose to live with it as I refuse to give up bacon, steak and BBQ. Salads can/will affect a person in the same way. Not to be TMI, but after eating such foods you really don't want to be too far from a restroom for about an hour afterwards.

Listen to Tully. Breakfast is the one to worry about for me. Oh and............Never assume it's just a fart. All in all after seven years without mine life is much better than the five years before the procedure.

Yep, the Mrs has about 45 minutes after eating something bad.... and if you not near a restroom.... [shtf]

Like @oldawg, it's breakfast that gets me. Bacon/sausage, hashbrowns, eggs fried in the bacon grease along with cheese grits. Usually doesn't take an hour... I now take 1-2 Imodium every morning along with my other meds. I've found that doing that makes things pretty much like I was before my gall bladder was removed. Actually I use the Sam's generic version. Much cheaper and I get higher quantity count. When I skip my normal breakfast I do not have near the issues;)
