Wifee took up crocheting and knitting when she was pregnant with the big monkey. She has been doing it ever since. Don't know how many socks and hats have been sent to soldiers overseas. She also makes towels, scrubbies, sweaters, and blankets.

Her newest is this very cool baby blanket. Little monkey is trying to jack it for herself.

Nice work....I don't blame your daughter for wanting it for herself. I belong to a knitting group which meets at the local municipal library on Saturday mornings. They keep threatening to teach me how to knit.

That is a beautiful blanket @Hanzo. Your wife is extremely talented. Love the fancy details on the border of the blanket.

So you belong to a local knitting group but don't know how to knit......... o_O So do you just hangout? Or did they put you in charge of bringing the snacks? Don't know if you are male or female- single male hanging with the local female knitting club? I know there is a story here.

It's a social thing....I have breakfast with them....(coffee, biscuits and cakes), I provide the comic relief, local gossip...find them wool, needles, patterns, craft books and crocheting hooks cheaply from OP (thrift) shops; entertain the children by reading them stories (so the moms can concentrating on knitt'n 'n' bitch'n ;) occasionally visiting those who are unwell in hospital (there are a few in their 80's and 90's, and reading them the news from the weekend newspapers...at least the oddball and funny stuff. There is an attendance book, which they insist that I sign just to bulk up the numbers. It's a nice pleasant sociable group. Most monkeys would fit in quite nicely.

The most recent addition to the group is a 12 year old Muslim girl, whose father drops off at the knitting group while he reads or uses the library's computer. She's a southpaw, (which makes knitting somewhat of a challenge for her) and she is starting from scratch, but the girls are cute, fussing about her, and being very encouraging and supportive. The girl is very shy and quiet, but, bit by bit, the group is drawing her out of her shell, which is nice to see.

One of the mothers is pregnant and she brings her little three year old girl with her...the girl speaks no English (her mother is Vietnamese who speaks good, but heavily accented English), but the girl loves me reading picture books with animals in them to her...I point at the animal...make an appropriate animal noise and then say the English name for the animal. Sometimes I try to trick her by using the wrong animal noise...but she just shakes her head at me, looks at me, as if I'm kind of mentally deficient, and then makes the correct animal noise, much to the amusement of the girls knitting. It's a lot of fun...They miss me, and I miss them when I have to be somewhere else on Saturday mornings.

Mahalo @Motomom34. Wifee even knitted different animals as embossed images in the different parts of the blanket. She knitted me a full size "baby" blanket out of wool. Great work. Lots of work.

All of the @Hanzo clan are pretty amazing, friendly and talented IMHO... too bad most of the members here can't spend time with them... nice family indeed.

(I am not a paid spokesperson for the Hanzo Clan nor do I receive any renumeration for any comments positive or otherwise ;) )

Wow! Mahalo for the very kind words, @Bear. I guess now I just owe you lunch then... But you see how I got Bear fooled?

But those very same words also apply to the Bear Clan.

I would love to have it. But I'd have to fight the little monkey for it. I could still take her.

I'm just a big baby, @Motomom34. You guys can always do a baby Hanzo shower. Although, maybe not. Better not to tempt fate...
