We ALL already knew that bacon is its own food group. All hail the mighty bacon!! But I think there is another food group and am pretty sure at least @Bear will agree with me. Anyway, after my buffet lunch where I did not have dessert, I called ahead on the way home to see if the wifee and monkeys needed anything. I was met with a resounding, "ICE CREAM!!" So I made a stop at the market and used the gift card one of my tai chi students so generously gave me. And loaded up a bag of four different kinds of ice creams and all the fixings for banana split. After I got home, I made banana splits for all. So allow me to introduce our newest food group... The Banana Split! I was too lazy to chop up nuts, but got everything else, including pineapple. No cherry. None of us eat that sugary bit. Strawberry, chocolate and vanilla bean.
Hanzo You know how to live well. We do the same, make our own whipped cream and avoid chocolate flavored syrup for chocolate syrup. Label reading does have its advantages/
My favorite food group is Brown. Most stuff that is brown, in all it's glorious shades, is good. Steak, pork chops, pork tenderloin, bourbon, porter beer, roasted potatoes, steak, whole wheat bread, baklava, chocolate, fried bacon, pastries, did I say steak? baked beans, pecans, walnuts, cashews, almonds, and the list goes on... What's you favorite Brown?
Well to get this thread back on subject. I think we were talking about ice cream. Oh and @Hanzo I think some of us monkeys would prefer something like this.
@Motomom34, @Bear might be hurt you didn't pick HIS brown picture. I don't mind that you didn't pick my younger days brown picture. To each his/her own.
Had some pineapple and lilikoi in the fridge, so blended some up in the NutriBullet to make pineapple lilikoi ice cream. There is a lot more pineapple and lilikoi hiding under the sugar. Full house in the ice cream maker. Almost overflowed. Was yummy.
So I offered the wifee some ice cream. She wanted to try the mint chocolate chip one that I made for the monkeys. SO I served this up for her. I'm guessing that she liked it because she helped herself to a second serving... that was 4-5 times larger than the first. Just the ice cream was overflowing the bowl and heaped way above the rim. I did make it fairly light after all.
