It's been a few years since we quickly sold out of these very coveted "zombie-removal" all-purpose survival tools. The distributor only recently got more of these babies manufactured and we were at the front of the line to get our hands on them again--the one and only Trucker's Friend™. Actually, there is now also a related tool called HRT ... the Handy Rescue Tool® for Firefighters. And we've got some of those in stock as well. There are Lifetime warranties on both of these robust, multi-faceted dynamos. Either one is a great resource to have along in your vehicle, just in case. And by the way--we won't tell anyone you wanted one because it's the coolest zombie-removal tool out there. I've never heard of that happening. Of course if you use it to assault someone, it would qualify as a deadly weapon, just as a pipe would. The Trucker's Friend is a multi-tool with many uses on the road, HK_User. It's been in production for MANY years and has become increasingly popular recently. Its big brother the HRT is a widely used first responder tool. And the newest little brother in the family, the Li'l Trucker, has even been ballyhooed in the liberal Huffington Post with not a whisper about inherent danger as a "weapon."
"A truckers friend better be in the side compartment or tool box." ... Or car trunk, etc. Sage advice, oldawg.
A single important question. 1. What are my options for replacing the handle in the field after I break it? Because it will happen.
Ax--they come with a lifetime guarantee. You break it, you'll get a new one. As for fixing it in the field--not sure I have an answer for you on that. I haven't succeeded in breaking mine and I prefer not to try to take it apart to see how readily it might go back together in a non-standard way.
IMHO, if you're close enough to use that thing, you've done something way wrong. Medium caliber, medium to long range. Keep the zombies far away from arm's length! Or even bett, don't let them get any idea you're in the neighbourhood. Kajun
My uninformed (and hopefully amusing) opinion is that if you've gotta use one of these, you've let them get WAAYYYY too close! Kajun
I got my hands on one of these when they first came out and it is a well made tool / defense weapon I keep it in my go bag. The only thing I did to mine was wrap the yellow handle in some camo gun tape so I wouldn't have to worry about the yellow giving me away. I also grabbed a couple pieces of kydex and a few screws to make a sheath.
