Donald Strumpet will sell his @ss to anyone.....who'll get him elected. His latest pitch is paraphrased as

"Elect me, and I'll gut the First Amendment, so that if the 4th estate says anything that upsets you about what they say about you you can sue their @sses off and make lots of money."

Methinks that there may be a slight conflict of interest there....just a little.

Trump can’t handle media criticism — so now he’s promising to disembowel the First Amendment

First they sued critics of the Feuhrer

then they sent critics to Concen....ahem .....FEMA camps.

Yep....Donaldo the Great for the first Imperator of the Imperial States of America. He couldn't do any worse than Caligula or Commodus. Surely.

No....not at all.....just pointing out Donaldo the Great doesn't like criticism from the media....remember....weakening the First Amendment, also weakens the 2nd Amendment....or so you guys keep on telling us. ;)

Coming from an Ostrich who has his head buried in the sand....that's even funnier still.....:p

I do wonder whether you know in fact what freedom is, and whether you indeed have it?? If Ronaldo the Great makes good on his promise to gut the First Amendment....it will only be the wealthy, such as Donaldo who can afford to sue for libel, who will benefit from that plan. Modest people such as yourself can make your own arrangements.....that's the kind of freedom you wish to vote for??? Pull your head out of the sand. You might just see a little better. ;)

Not may choices Chell. It's between Trump and two communists (the other two competitors in the same party with Trump aren't contenders, let's face it). The communist in the lead is under a criminal investigation for breaching this country's national security (some 1800 times!) while Sec of State, and has a long history that is unsavory at best. It includes a trail of dead bodies. The felon/communist will most likely win that party's nomination and quite possibly the presidency too.

I'm not much of a Trump guy myself. But given that set of circumstances, Chell, who would you vote for?
Wait! Don't tell me. You'd vote for the felon because she's a liberal and imitates a small dog by barking while campaigning.

    Sorry Chell.

Didn't mean to unload on you. But I'm sure many Americans are as frustrated as I am. When a candidate gets up on the political stage and proclaims his /her support for the US Constitution, lower taxes and smaller government the way this country's founders intended he/she seals their political doom.

The majority of the people only want to hear all about how much they can get for free from government without having to work. And the candidate who promises the most, wins. It will be our financial downfall. And given our present national debt nearing $20 Trillion, probably sooner than later. Most of those clamoring for the government freebies aren't educated enough to figure that out.

Oh, and for the record, I haven't heard any specific plans from Trump for dealing with the colossal mess known as the national debt either.

You have encapsulated the problem very well. It says much for the effectiveness of a two ring circus party system where the winner is the best electoral schmoozer rather than the best possible candidate for the job. At least with the Australian parliamentary system, if the head donkey isn't delivering....he/she gets neck-chopped by a parliamentary party spill. Usually the electorate isn't saddled with a failing Prime Minister/government for the whole parliamentary term...come what may.

I'd probably flip a coin between Bernardo and Donaldo....both would have excellent entertainment value until one or other was assassinated. An interesting possibility might be a National Unity executive administration with Donaldo as El Presidente, and Bernardo as El Vice Presidente. or vice versa....the possibilities are endless. I would no more vote for Hilary than I would Sarah Palin....both are well past their use by dates, and neither were worth consuming even prior to their best before dates..

Altoid....I don't take it as a dump on me....I feel your frustration, and the frustration of others. All of those putting themselves forward are lacklustre candidates with no sensible personal vision for diverting the runaway trolley car that Americans are passengers are presently in from imminent fiscal and social disaster. Donaldo is not the only one selling his butt......they all are! Just that Donaldo's butt selling is appealing to more ears than any of Donaldo's competitors. :(

Here's a thought....do away with planned parenthood's baby bits for profit operation. Round up all the illegals, and sell THEM for medical research. That way it's a double win. (No more drain on the system, no more monies being sent out of the country, no more heavy influx of illegals every day once word gets out, no more problems with over crowding in schools, apartments, job markets as I've seen first hand in California. )
Immigrants are, and always have been the backbone and life's blood of this country. And have every right to APPLY for entry, and become citizens. Illegals do not.
Post signs at fruit pickers, and Home Depot stores " Illegals will be dissected, and sold for medical research" and the jobs market will suddenly require more of our young couch potatoes to fill those jobs. ....... (hmmmm, perhaps I should run for President. ...)

I respectfully disagree. Just because jobs open does not mean that people will be inspired to stop receiving entitlements and get a job. One of the greatest issues is that companies will not hire people for more then 30 hours because they do not want to provide healthcare. When Obamacare kicked in and companies were required to provide healthcare to workers over 30 hours, that turned our working society into a part-time work week.

As for Donald, it was obvious from the get go that he does not like criticism. He is used to being the boss and his word is law or at least he thinks it is. People are angry and we will run the country into the ground because we will not tolerate the same old system that only serves a few and neglects the masses.

Agree on most points. I have been one of those who had to work several jobs to have enough hours to feed myself, and fill my needs. The freebies are another issue that must be addressed, and folks weaned off them.
But, the job must be filled, or the pay rises, because the business is there to make a profit (jobs are only a symptom of that search for profit) and free markets determine what that job will pay, and what that product is worth.
Edit: as for the 30 hours thing....that has been standard practice for most of my lifetime. The number of hours require was just a little bit higher. 40 hours was considered full time employment, then 38 (iirc) then 35. Obummercare lowered that number even further, but did not invent the game. Bosses found it could be cheaper to have one or two more people on the books, but each one got fewer hours. Thus ALL were below the cap, and no bennies were required to be paid.

People will not wean off of free. People think they are owed. Personally I think we should stop all payments and then rebuild the system. Some people truly deserve and need benefits others are just leaches on the system. Do I really want a truly disabled person to go without payments for three months, no but I also do not want to continue to support the lazy.

As for jobs must be filled. The only persona who cares about jobs that need to be filled is the employer. Everyone else stands around and complains because the business doesn't have enough workers and they are not getting the service they need. Most people do not think.............. home depot is short staffed so I should go apply for a job. No way, people just complain because they can't find anyone to help them. Country is broke, people (many) are lazy and it is hard to fix lazy when we have a system that promotes laziness.

Ween them off by percentages, not cold turkey (think frog in water on stove top) and as for no one looks for jobs, I have to disagree. Folks keep asking us if we are hiring, I know what process I go through when I needed a job, and I know I am not alone in my job search skills. (If I was, jobs would be everywhere, unfilled) entire businesses have evolved for the PURPOSE of matching workers to jobs. That does not happen without need on both ends.

Sorry to trash your Donald thread @chelloveck but.....

I know a lady that was making 6 figures. There was a merge and now she is out of a job. She has been unemployed for almost a year. Why is she unemployed because she is over qualified for many jobs. People will not hire her. She wants a job, needs a job but is not hire-able because she is too qualified.
What? I don't put frogs in water on the stove top. But if you do, I would recommend having a lid.

Many Americans are angry and Trump appeals to that anger. There isn't a need to tell us about Trump as our excuse for a news media does it daily. Meanwhile they dote on Hillary and Barry.

    @kellory
Just cut off any and all benefits and they will deport themselves. Rounding them up would be expensive; cutting them off is free.
What the average American doesn't know, the anchor baby opens the door for his illegal parents to collect benefits also.

Oh, we know. We know. They are called "wet backs"because of swimming the river to give birth on this side. And when you close off the tap, they riot and steal. Been there. Spent 5 years in california, closest thing to a War zone, I care to live in. 9/10's of california's problems are due to illegals. And they're armed.

Nope- we won't hire a Superintendent to be a laborer. One he would not be happy with laborer pay and two he would leave as soon as something at his level opened. Say you got fired. Would you work as a minimum wage laborer?

Yes, I have. I worked as a carpenter and framer, and roofer. Each at different times, as needed. Of course, when the job market provided for advancement, I took it. It is not my bosses purpose in life to assure my happiness, that's my job. That is the point of several skill sets. I can work nearly any construction field, and a few others, but I would be a fool to apply as a book-keeper, or accountant. I can and have dug ditches, laid foundations, poured and troweled concrete, painted inside and out. Built fences of all sorts, worked in lawn services, and other jobs. I could go anywhere and find or create a job for myself. There is no such thing as over qualified. Just a job you will not accept.

Although I know you don't mean because they are armed we should continue on this hellbent course. Does being armed means we cannot cut off their benefits or do anything else about them?

That opens the door to the question, what is your solution?

No, I mean when they riot, there are more dead bodies. Or have you forgotten the LA riots?

Airmail all illegals home. Parachutes for those who pay their own way.
Let ALL of them come through the LEGAL emigration service, or stay out. Anchor babies go with Thier parents to get in line with everyone else. They can have Thier day in court once they are legal citizens.

Yes I remember the LA riots and others. However, your question didn't answer my question.

I read someplace the Senate Finance Committee stated each person on welfare costs $168 per day. Someplace else I read 53% of all illegals collect welfare. Same as most Americans because I've heard the same 11 million for years, I believe there are more than 11 million illegals in this nation. Let's stay conservative and say 20 million. 53% would be 10,600,000
If we do the math 10.6 million times $168 = 1,780,800,000 and in 365 days?

Because I do not know if the $168 per day includes everything, such as education, incarceration, and more; plus ignoring the free diseases etc., I doubt that is the total bill.

That is why I asked what is your solution.
